*Question: Can you briefly recall what led to your salvation or how you gave your life to Christ?* *Answer: I watched a Christian movie titled "Abejoye"* ___ You needed to see the joy that flooded my heart as I read Samuel's application. Like many others, this is Samuel's first time of joining HTP outreach. Samuel had filled the part of the form that required him to tell us how he gave his life to Christ, since this was his first time. Reading his response really touched me. This is why in our HTPs we ensure we secure projectors that would enable us shoot Christian movies during the Crusade sessions in the evening. Yes! Souls have turned out during the altar calls either to surrender or to rededicate their lives to Jesus. This is why we have been scouting for projectors for this year's HTP. We have already secured about 4-6 but we need at least two more for the 8 fields we plan to achieve this year's HTP. *“I’m not afraid of failure; I’m afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter.”* -- William Carey ___ William Carey was the first born of a poor family. He was born on 17 August 1761 in England. He taught himself Latin and Greek among other languages which he learned as a matter of struggle and survival strategy. Before he became a full time pastor, he was a school teacher and a part time pastor. *"Dismayed by his fellow Protestant’s lack of missionary interest, William Carey wrote An Enquiry into the Obligations of Christians to use Means for the Conversion of the Heathens, published in five parts during 1792." In the course of their stressful missions work in India, William translated and wrote Bengali New Testament with the help of a pundit. He would later in 1801, publish the complete translation of Bengali New Testament, setting the foundation for the study of modern Bengali. "While working as a Professor of Bengali in Fort William, he would consult his colleagues to correct his language and work. Soon William Carey was writing grammar books of Bengali and Sanskrit, as well as a new Bible in the Sanskrit language. He continued to translate the Bible into forty- four other languages and dialects." His son Peter was killed by dysentery and stress, (out of five children) causing his wife Dorothy to suffer from a nervous breakdown and she died soon after in 1807. **** Truly, he was not afraid of failure; he was only afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter. We will not shy away from the work of prayer and fasting. Fasting alongside prayer causes us to enter into the center of the will of God. Jesus himself approved of fasting as a key to achieving greater things in the work of the kingdom. (Mathew 17:21; Mark 9:29) Cornelius attracted the attention of God when He engaged in fasting and prayers. (Acts 10:30) Jesus began His missionary ministry with fasting and prayers (Matthew 4:2) Paul missionary ministry was birthed on the altar of prayer and fasting (Act 13:2-3) Paul's missionary ministry was a great success as he engaged often in fasting and prayers, among others ( 2 Corin. 6:5; 11:27) Dearly Beloved Partner & Friend, *Today 20th November, 2021* our 21day fasting and prayer begins.
