*DAILY DEW 28/APRIL/2022* *The Church in Nigeria and the 'emergence' of GEN Z* (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron"* (1 Timothy 4:1-2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The kinds of churches that have emerged, from those that look like business centers to those that look like an outright social club, to those that look like occultism. All these in the midst of a serious decline in bible study. They are almost, if not completely clueless on the essentials of the Christian faith. There's already a growing yet silent rebellion against the church among them but guess what's keeping many of them in church now? Fear or Honour for their parents, as the case may be. If they were to make a choice by themselves, many would be out of the system by now. I'm deeply concerned. *~The Christian faith is practicable and it yields the results promised in scriptures. It has the power to make an undeniable impact on the soul of a man. In our relationship with Christ, and the gift of eternal life, which is the core blessing of the faith, there are discernible fruits of changed lives via the development of godly characters that cannot be produced by self will and effort - something supernatural.~* Another side of this supernatural lifestyle is the experience of the leading and gifts of the Spirit beyond reasonable doubts. This authentic Christianity is the only thing that can bail this GEN Z. Because, see, they don't have time for anything not working... While we've had individuals who challenged the church in every of these generations, truth is, they were the exceptions. As per GEN Z, that will be the norm. They won't hold back from disagreeing in the name of honoring fathers. The millennials still do this with much caution. They won't be sowing endless seeds for 24hr miracles that may never come. They won't bow to threats of devourer because you want to collect 10 percent of their hard earned money. They won't pretend to have seen God's hand when all they can see is man's effort. They won't keep quiet in cases of domestic violence. Their placards are ready. _MEDITATION:_ *"It's time for the church to sit up - we have a generation to save. It won't come cheap. It won't come by suppressing their questions. They must be adequately answered. *DAILY DEW 27/APRIL/2022* *The Church in Nigeria and the 'emergence' of GEN Z* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."* (Psalms 14:1 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Then we have the Millennials (1981-1996), who (that is, the older in this bracket) also saw some level of sanity in the church. They saw consecration and power. They saw diligence with scriptures. However, it was already corrupted and contaminated. Though some of them were born in the early 80s, by the time they were growing up, it was in the midst of a growing decline in the church. So, we have more atheists from this category of people than we have in the first three. Let's just say they were bred amidst confusion. I belong to this generation and I know how hard it was to pin point what the Christian faith was really. Truth be told, there were solid materials on the Christian faith from this era as well but they were mostly with the minority. Now to the GEN Z. By definition, anyone born between 1997-2012 falls in this category. I've read about the prevailing characteristics of these amazing individuals and I must say my findings reveal that it's not all gloom and doom. These qualities can be channeled rightly, leading to faster development and advancement in any area of life. In all my observations, this one stands out: they don't have time for anything that's not working. Where the faith is concerned, no generation has had it this bad like this particular one. _MEDITATION:_ *"The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. *DAILY DEW 20/APRIL/2022* *PUTTING EASTER INTO PERSPECTIVE* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you."* (Romans 8:11 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ There are a number of things the power of resurrection actually means when put in perspective. Let's begin from the literal meaning of Romans 8:11: *"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you."* This means that the Holy Spirit can give life to our mortal bodies. Our mortal bodies are bound to go down either by breaking down health wise or by dying completely. The life giving ministry of the Holy Spirit includes making lifeless bodies come back to life. That's a literal resurrection. That's one key function or dimension of the power of resurrection. Matthew 10:8 (KJV) *"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."* The scope of work that Jesus handed over to the one who believes, includes raising the dead. That's possible only because of the power of resurrection. We should never assume that this dimension of the Holy Spirit's resurrection power is a thing of the past. *DAILY DEW 13/APRIL/2022* *TAKING THE GATES OF ECONOMY* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them"* (Deuteronomy 28:13 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The gift of service will make a way for you if you must take the gates of economy & finance. Every value served opens an opportunity for financial remuneration. To significantly impact the economy, we must render significant values that attracts remuneration while bettering the lives of people. Serve loyally in any worthwhile capacity by giving quality services and products at a cheap price. Build a team. Create an avenue for entrepreneurship and employment, around a common business goal. To take over any gate, especially the gate of economy, the following points are key: 1. Obedience to God is the first law in taking over territories. 2. Courage to challenge the status quo and courage to challenge oneself to step up and do more, render more impactful value driven services and products. Courage to prove to your investors that you are investable. Courage to prove to your customers that you are worth their money. To take over the gate of economy, one must take calculated risks. Having courage is a risk so also is being obedient. Remember that failure is like a sling shot; you must go back to go farther forward. Many Christians lack the courage to go forward, we are easily stuck with familiar terrains and routine. We must break away from our comfort zones if we must go forward. Don't be afraid when thoughts come persistently. They may be a link to your next best product or service. *DAILY DEW 6TH/APRIL/2022* *Be PURPOSE-DRIVEN* (The End) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Don't worry and ask yourselves, "Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear?" Only people who don't know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows that you need all of these. But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well."* (Matthew 6:31-33 (CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ Jesus switched from talking about physical food to spiritual food. This is the second time He made such a switch of words. The Samaritan woman wanted physical water, but Jesus redirected her to her real need – living water, eternal life. The disciples talked about food, Jesus redirected them to that which is more important - spiritual food – doing God’s will. The disciples focused on the physical. Jesus wanted them to know the importance of that which is spiritual. We are to be concerned with the will of God. We are to be concerned with the salvation of the lost. Can we see the PASSION of Jesus’ heart? Can you feel the passion of His heart today? Are we talking only about the physical? Are we praying only for physical needs? Are we preoccupied only by the physical – the affairs of this life? We are to be PASSIONATE not just because this is God’s will for us. Jesus explains further, saying to His disciples, in verse 35: “Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” _MEDITATION:_ *"We are to be PASSIONATE because time is running out. It’s the right time to reap now! Let us develop a PASSION for the work of God. Don’t wait. Do it now.
