*You’ll Never Wish You Did Less* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Later Simon and the others went out to find him. When they found him, they said, "Everyone is looking for you." But Jesus replied, "We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came." So he traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons.* (Mark 1:35-39 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
Unengaged, Unsent, Unreached
That picture showed me a lot about a world I did not know. I had never heard the title “Bibleless peoples†either. I knew people who choose not to read a Bible, but I had never heard of the 210 million who might have a desire to read God’s word, but could not, because one did not exist in their language.
And the “unengaged I knew of unbelievers, but I had no awareness of the groups in the world who are silently wasting away, waiting to hear about their sin and Savior. Presently, they have no church, agency, or Christian with a plan to get the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.
I had never thought about the “unsent†either. I knew Christ commissioned his people as “sent ones†(John 17:18), but surely he meant something or someone else. I did not know how starved the world is for missionaries and yet how large, and largely unsent, the evangelical church remains. I did not know my future involved only two choices — send or be sent.
But for those believers who do know of these peoples, we must ask a penetrating question, “Is it that you can’t do something, or that you won’t?†Most are unaware, but heaven forbid that the others are unmoved.
_MEDITATION:_
*“210 million people cannot read the Bible because one does not exist in their language.â€*
What do you think about that? 🤔
Are you unmoved? 🥺

*THE AWAKENING OF THE WATCHERS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“The time's coming when watchmen will call out from the hilltops of Ephraim: 'On your feet! Let's go to Zion, go to meet our GOD!"* (Jeremiah 31:6 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
Traditionally, the watchmen watch over the city. They are fort holders and fort keepers! They can also be likened to guards, or night or day or gate guards. They are in sense gate keepers. They ensure certain orders are preserved and peace and security maintained. They sacrifice their comfort for wellbeing of their jurisdiction (primary place of oversight responsibility)
Corruption or defeat begins from the watchmen. When watchmen are bought over or overcome, taking over the city becomes a piece of cake or a walk over. (2Kings 18:8) Likewise, to strengthen or build up a city, setting up watchtowers and installing watchmen over them is a necessary step if the city must be rebuilt despite opposition.
The above understanding, helps us as we see the context of today's key verse:
*_I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful. Again you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria; the farmers will plant them and enjoy their fruit. There will be a day when watchmen cry out on the hills of Ephraim, 'Come, let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God.'" This is what the LORD says: "Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard, and say, 'LORD, save your people, the remnant of Israel.'_* (Jeremiah 31:4-7 (NIV))
For God to restore us, to build us up, there must come a day when the watchmen will awake again to their calling and responsibility. Today can and should be that day for you and I. We must not postpone it for God is ever ready. Waiting for the individual who will rise and say, *"Lord, I am ready to stand awake as your watchman in these last days"*
_MEDITATION:_
*“And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone. And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If he be alone, there is tidings in his mouth. And he came apace, and drew near.â€* (2 Samuel 18:24-25 (KJV))

*STAY FOCUSED*
_Key Bible Text:_
*“Keep your eyes on [Jesus], who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed--that exhilarating finish in and with God--he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he's [there], in the place of honor, right alongside God."* (Hebrews 12:2 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
Don’t lose your wonder. After a season of absolute awe and new learnings about God, did you go through a phase where you felt like you lost that amazement? In Psalms 139:6 while talking about God’s love and knowledge of us, David says, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.â€
While you fix your eyes on Jesus, it is also important to explore and receive new revelations about God. God’s work is too vast for us to measure and too profound for us to fathom, however, God is gracious to give us glimpses of His Glory when we love Him and long to know more. These continuous revelations about God will unquestionably leave you in wonder, fueling your love and passion for God.
In the monotony created, many Christians almost lose the realization of the authority that we have as sons and daughters of God.
Don’t ever become passive about the passion you carried and casual about the mission you committed your life to.
What are some creative ways you can think of to remind yourself and always hold on to that “wonder
Start practicing them and list down all that amazes you. Psalms 139 holds a beautiful list of revelations about God. Though David’s thought was directed towards asking God to search him and know his heart is true, his revelation of God gave him hope that his God knew him better than anyone could ever know.
_MEDITATION:_
*“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life!"* Jude 1:21 (KJV)

*THE NECESSITY OF HUNGER* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*“In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work."* (John 4:31-34 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Hunger for God, as we must see, manifest in a number of ways: hunger for righteousness, hunger for God's presence, to wit, to spend time studying His word and praying, etc. One other way, hunger for God is seen and experienced, is HUNGER TO DO HIS WILL & HIS WORK! (This is also righteousness but with focus on the Father's heart beat, that is, kingdom expansion)
Hungry believers do not get tired of being Hungry for God's righteousness and His Kingdom's establishment and expansion.
Open to John 4:4-8, you will notice that Jesus was both wearied from his journey and hungry since his disciples had to go buy meat. However, as can be seen later in that chapter, and as captured in our key Bible text, Jesus was more hungry to do the will of His Father and to Finish His work, than He was for physical bread, meat or water!
Hunger for God must mean something to you. Hunger for God must mean knowing God and making Him known! To further buttress His point about hunger and doing/finishing the Will and Work of the Father, Jesus added as follows:-
*_"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together."_* (John 4:35-36 (KJV))
_MEDITATION:_
*“You are not hungry for more of Jesus unless you are hungry to know Him more and to Make Him Known the more"*

*RELATIONSHIPS & CHOOSING A LIFE PARTNER* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools."* (Ecclesiastes 7:9 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
SOME RED FLAGS to consider when considering a serious relationship or choice of a life partner, are as follows:-
1. How does s/he treat others, especially those who are below them financially and otherwise?
Don't move on when you notice that your proposed partner is always disrespectful, vile or violent/unnecessarily aggressive towards others except you! Don't ever think that such treatment will not be unleashed at you some day! The way s/he generally treats others and conducts himself or herself is the way s/he truly is! All the exclusive niceness or goodness s/he displays towards you are temporary make-believe acts that will wear off soo! Beware!
2. How does s/he manage anger?
Anger management is a vital factor to consider when choosing a life partner.
Anyone who can't control their anger and are unwilling to do so, are future marriage problems in disguise! When you have a potential partner who is proud to say "little things get me angry" or "I am hot tempered and I can damage things when I am angry oh but I can be very nice", just know that you are being given a hint of what to expect if you advance to marriage. Be rest assured that there will be problems because marriage is haven of offence and forgiveness or it's nothing! So when he or she is offended, you have already been told to expect anger outburst, damages and hurts, and temporary madness.
Truth is, such is not necessary. Anger or being angry is not a license or justification for losing control and going berserk! A sister or brother who cannot learn to control or manage anger is a spiritual baby (and prayer point) and needs to be put in order first as a single person so as not to extend such liability to a life partner!
_MEDITATION:_
*"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4: 31-32 (KJV))!"*
