*DAILY DEW 3/MARCH/2023* *WHEN GOD'S "YES" APPEARS LIKE A "NO"* (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Then all the Israelites went up to Bethel and wept in the presence of the Lord and fasted until evening. They also brought burnt offerings and peace offerings to the Lord. The Israelites went up seeking direction from the Lord... The Israelites asked the Lord, "Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again, or should we stop?" The Lord said, "Go! Tomorrow I will hand them over to you."* (Judges 20:26-28 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ The Lord said, "Go! Tomorrow I will hand them over to you." There is no other way to walk with God, than to trust and obey. Repeat the process over and over until the required outcome is achieved. Never lose faith in the process. In total the Israelites had lost 40,000 skilled soldiers just within two days of fighting the Benjamintes. It is not that they didn't hear God. They heard God. They sought God's face. God had told them to go and fight! Yet, God's YES, ended up appearing like a NO! Wow! No matter how disappointing walking with God may appear at times, like David, remember, even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, DO NOT FEAR! Cry if you must, repent, if you must, Go back to the place of prayer, add fasting even, seek His face some more, BUT NEVER NEVER NEVER SEEK ANY OTHER CONTRARY ALTERNATIVES! Never think you can do better than God! Stay with God even when he is not making sense. Perhaps it is a test! I don't know for sure but what I know is that in the end, HE WILL DELIVER HIS PROMISES unto you! *"They went out on the third day and took their positions at the same place as before."* Judges 20:30 Do it again. *DAILY DEW 2/MARCH/2023* *WHEN GOD'S "YES" APPEARS LIKE A "NO"* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"So the next day they went out again to fight against the men of Benjamin, but the men of Benjamin killed another 18,000 Israelites, all of whom were experienced with the sword."* (Judges 20:24-25 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ Tragedy again! 😥 BUT God had asked them to go again. Was God pulling their legs? They sought the face of the Lord, the first time and they lost 22,000 skilled soldiers. They sought the face of God for the second time, the Lord responded positively and in obedience, they went again and still suffered defeat! A whole 18,000 skilled soldiers lost again! Wow! Why does God take the long process at times? What does he gain by not giving instant Victories at times? Why must the road to God's promises be laced with all manner of challenges, tragedies and defeats at times? Beloved, I don't pretend to have all the answers. I don't pretend to know why God sometimes uses adversity to "train" His people. But this one thing I know is this, never give up on God, because even when God does not make sense, He is still God and whatever promise He has made, will come true in the end! Hallelujah! The real question is, how do you cope when God looks far away and unresponsive? *DAILY DEW 1/MARCH/2023* *WHEN GOD'S "YES" APPEARS LIKE A "NO"* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"But the Israelites encouraged each other and took their positions again at the same place they had fought the previous day. For they had gone up to Bethel and wept in the presence of the Lord until evening. They had asked the Lord, "Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again?" And the Lord had said, "Go out and fight against them."* (Judges 20:22-23 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ One would think that the Israelites will give up and turn against God or be discouraged. Rather, they went back to the drawing board again. They went back to God again. They broke down and cried before God in Bethel. They asked the Lord what to do again. They didn't conclude that God was scamming them or punishing them. They didn't conclude that prophecies are not working. They didn't even conclude that God had abandoned them or mislead them. They went back to God again. They had asked the Lord, "Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again?" And the Lord had said, *"Go out and fight against them."* After they heard God. They went again. Beloved, believe in God and in yourself and go again. Last year you tried it didn't work, last month you tried it didn't work but now I bring you God's word, go again and fight for what you believe is right and yours. *"The Israelites encouraged each other and took their positions again at the same place they had fought the previous day."* Don't be discouraged. Take your position again. Don't let the repetition weary you. Do it again! God is on your side. Don't give up! Keep pushing! Enjoy the best of this new month, as you march forward. *DAILY DEW 28/FEBRUARY/2023* *WHEN GOD'S "YES" APPEARS LIKE A "NO"* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Before the battle the Israelites went to Bethel and asked God, "Which tribe should go first to attack the people of Benjamin?" The Lord answered, "Judah is to go first." But Benjamin's warriors, who were defending the town, came out and killed 22,000 Israelites on the battlefield that day."* (Judges 20:18,21 (NLT)) _Bible Insight:_ A very interesting story it was. Benjamintes have done the unthinkable and unpardonable by every standard. You will see the gory details in Chapter 19 of the Book of Judges. The rest of the tribe of Israel demands that the culprits must be brought to book. But the Benjamintes would not agree. Hence, they went to war against Israel. Not to be too forward, the Israelites asked God, if they should go up to battle against their brethren the Benjamintes. God said YES and even directed that the people of Judah should take the lead. They went, but alas, the Benjamintes defeated them, and killed 22,000 soldiers of Israel. 🥺 How can it be? How can you seek the face of God, hear God right, and still not have the expected results? How can you do everything right, yet it appears the evil tides are winning? What do you do when it seems everything is working against you, even when you have done nothing wrong? _MEDITATION:_ *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. *DAILY DEW 29TH/MARCH/2022* *THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MARRIAGE* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless--that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing."* (1 Peter 3:8-9 (The Message)) _Bible Insight:_ There are stages that every marriage will go through. These stages can make or mar your marriage. Hence, understanding what these stages can bring is key, so you know what to do and how to make the most of each stage. The number one stage of marriage is:- 1. The honey moon stage: This one is usually the easiest and the one that attracts many singles towards marriage. Alas, it is just an introductory stage of marriage that starts informally from serious courtship and more formally after the wedding night. It may last from a month to a year, more or less depending on the couple. PS- Some have learned to move from a short term honey moon stage, to a life time honey moon, sometimes called, honey years. The key to this switch still lies in understanding every stage of marriage and working towards the best of each stage. 2. The reality stage-- This is when the real person shows up. All the sugar coated-ness and best-foot showing, gradually begins to wear off. Shocks and surprises at differences of the two individuals begins to rear their (ugly) heads up. At this stage, Mr Right becomes Mr Wrong or Mr Not So Right, while Mrs Right, wants to remain Mrs Right even when she is wrong. At this stage, there are two other possible Stages that would naturally come up next, depending on the parties -- it is either the Retaliation Stage or The Renovation Stage. This reality stage is usually where many lose it and thereby forgo their rather shortlived "firebrand, together forever love" they had professed to each other. _MEDITATION:_ *"Every stage of marriage can either make or mar your marriage.
