Understanding your Children... Children are gift from God, how uncomfortable is the couple that doesn’t have a child after many years of marriage. The worst-case scenario is that you’re not a father/mother, nobody will call you father/mother. It is one thing to born a child and another thing to train the child. God has already determined your children’s potentials, it is up to you to help them discover and develop it. You will see it in their temperament, gifts and their interest. Do not treat your children the same way when it comes to character, potential, gift, and interest they are different, you must love them unconditionally, but develop them individually. Start listening to what your children value, who they are, what they like, how they behave when they are alone, what they fear and what the need. According to the bible Provb22vs6 “Train up a child in the way he should go…” ie every child has a different way to go that is different from each other. But in all make sure they are anchored spiritually in God’s word. Do not force them to go the way you wish you’d gone, help them discover their own identity and become their biggest backer. If that means putting your own dreams on hold for a while, do it, you will not regret it. Your children are your future, they are your biggest asset remember that the tree which you grow today produce the fruit you eat tomorrow. Pray for your children, encourage them and ask God to help you understand them. By Chima Godson
