While in primary school, we used to look forward to Children's day. Well, mainly because our school then used to go for march past competitions with other school. It was fun...till we began to "grow up".
Celebrating on children's day became "childish". We were so in a hurry to grow up that sometimes we forgot to live as children. And in trying to grow up, we became truly childish.
We need to live as children so we can exist as adults. Do those childish and crazy things now. We often get so caught up living for tomorrow that we fail to live in the moment. Play in the rain, run in the sand, hide in the trees, jump that fence, kick that ball, splash that water. Be a little obnoxious but stay fun and smart. That may just be the memory that will get you through tough times.
So I dedicate today to all children especially the less previleged ones, but even more I dedicate today to all adults that forgot to live as children, all adults that could not live as children and all children that are not able to live as children.
Happy children's day to us all.
