*DAILY DEW 27/FEBRUARY/2025* *THEY KNEW NOT!* _Key Bible Text:_ *"For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead."* (John 20: 9 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ The disciples' lack of understanding about Jesus' resurrection is highlighted in this verse. Despite Jesus' repeated predictions of His death and resurrection (Matthew 16:21, 17:22-23, 20:17-19), the disciples still did not grasp the significance of these events. This verse emphasizes the importance of understanding and applying Scripture to our lives. The disciples' ignorance of Scripture led to their confusion and unbelief when they encountered the empty tomb. If they had remembered Jesus' teachings about His resurrection, they would have been prepared for this event and would have had a deeper understanding of its significance. This verse teaches us the importance of knowing and applying Scripture to our lives, especially during times of uncertainty and confusion. This verse also highlights the importance of spiritual understanding and discernment. The disciples saw the empty tomb and the grave clothes, but they did not understand the significance of these events. It was not until Jesus appeared to them and explained the Scriptures that they understood the truth about His resurrection (Luke 24:13-35). This verse encourages us to seek spiritual understanding and discernment, and to rely on God's Word to guide us in times of uncertainty. _MEDITATION:_ *Three and a half years of teachings and emphasis. Yet, the disciples did not know nor understand when he was eventually crucified. Yet, you read the bible a few times and are already supposing or assuming that you have known the word enough.
