*DAILY DEW 17/FEBRUARY/2025* *A KINGDOM NOT OF THIS WORLD* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence."* (John 18: 36 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ In John 18:36, Jesus is responding to Pontius Pilate's question, "Art thou a king then?" (John 18:37). Jesus' answer is profound: "My kingdom is not of this world." This statement highlights the nature of Jesus' kingdom, which is not a physical or earthly realm, but a spiritual one. Jesus explains that if His kingdom were of this world, His servants would fight to prevent His arrest and delivery to the Jews. However, Jesus' kingdom operates on different principles. His servants do not rely on violence or human strength to achieve their goals. Instead, they trust in the power of God and the wisdom of His plan. The lesson from this verse is that, as followers of Jesus, we must not confuse God's kingdom with the kingdoms of this world. We must not rely on human strength, wealth, or power to achieve our goals. Instead, we must trust in God's sovereignty and provision, and seek to advance His kingdom through humble service, love, and obedience.
