*DAILY DEW 13/JANUARY/2025* *"IN HUMILITY, RECEIVE..."* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me."* (John 13:8 (KJV)) _Bible Insight_ The exchange between Jesus and Peter in John 13:8 highlights a critical aspect of the Christian life: humility and surrender. Peter's initial refusal to allow Jesus to wash his feet stems from a misunderstanding of Jesus' role and a sense of pride. He cannot fathom why the Master would stoop to serve him. However, Jesus' response underscores the importance of humility and willingness to receive from Him. By washing Peter's feet, Jesus is not only demonstrating His servant-leadership but also symbolically cleansing Peter from sin. Jesus' statement, "If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me," drives home the necessity of surrender and dependence on Him.
