*DAILY DEW 27/JANUARY/2023* *LEONARD RAVENHILL* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample."* (Philippians 3:17 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Some men's lives are worthy to be revisited and reviewed as a required practice expected of believers of this user-friendly generation! (A term we will explain perhaps another day). A man like LEONARD RAVENHILL is one of such men. Here is what he recalls about his own mother. Leonard's mum and a certain Granny, who lived next door to them, prayed together about the child (Leonard) that was to be born. An amazing thing happened two hours—not two months, not two weeks, not two days—after he was born, said the mother. She continued, *‘‘When the midwife went out, I (his mother) reached over the bed and laid my hands on you (Leonard) and just prayed, ‘Lord, make this boy a preacher or don’t let him live'."* Wow! Imagine a mother saying such a prayer over a child she had just gone through the nine months of sacrifices and pain to bear. Yet, she said such a prayer over the baby. No wonder today we have course to revisit Leonard's life. Settled! No common or ordinary children is born by normal parents. Moses was not of normal parents. Isaac was not of normal parents. John the baptist was not of normal parents. Jesus was not of normal parents. The list goes on. As a parent, your child will be a product of the quality and caliber of person you are and faith you have. All through history, extra ordinary people have been parented by abnormal parents-- and whether positively or negatively, this principle still applies. What kind of parents are you becoming? Your single-hood is the best time to decide the kind of parent you want to become and the kind of children you want to raise in a user-friendly generation! _MEDITATION:_ *LEONARD RAVENHILL was born in 1907 in the city of Leeds, in Yorkshire, England. After his conversion to Christ, he was trained for the ministry at Cliff College. It soon became evident that evangelism was his forte, and he engaged in it with both vigor and power. Eventually he became one of England’s foremost outdoor evangelists. His meetings in the war years drew traffic-jamming crowds in Britain, and great numbers of his converts not only followed the Savior into the kingdom but also into the Christian ministry and the world’s mission fields. He emigrated to the United States in midlife, where he continued his ministry. He and his wife, Martha, raised three sons.
