*DAILY DEW 19/JANUARY/2023* *FURTHER WARNINGS CONCERNING THE LAST DAYS* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,.* (2 Timothy 3:2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ When you know that difficult times are ahead, the right response is looking out for the opportunities in the difficulties. The best way you can do this is by Taking HEED to God's word first. As you begin to get closer to God and His word and His leading, you begin to draw strength, wisdom, directions and stability from the Ancient of days Himself, who knows it all and have seen it all. Hallelujah! The prophetic word of God proceeds to inform us why there will be great difficulties and chaotic times in the last days. *"For men shall be lovers of their own selves* -- this stands like the foundation of it all. The self love spirit will bear all kinds of fruits such as, selfishness, self centeredness, greediness, jealousy, envy, etc Why do you think people kill others for money? *covetous,* -- this too is a fruit of self love. Because once all you care about is SELF interest, self preservation, self love, self defense, self, self, self.... You will definitely not think anyone deserves anything good OTHER THAN "YOU"! Thus, the stage is set for covetousness. Jealousy and envy are "brothers and sisters" of Covetousness. Covetousness makes you never satisfied with what you have, as you are always after what others have, that you feel entitled to. *boasters,* --- yet another fruit of self love. You just can't but speak too good about your self. You can't but blow your own trumpet. You can't but magnify your achievements and acquisitions, just so as to make yourself feel good, important and celebrated. Watch it. *proud,* --- Coming close after boasting, is being proud. Your head is already and always big. You feel on top of the world. You don't think you need anyone or anything apart from your own interests. You become arrogant, bossy, and overbearing. You think too much of yourself and too little of others. Before we continue with the list, do a self scan! Check yourself. Are you seeing any of these traits lurking around your heart and life? Don't pamper yourself. Don't excuse yourself. Be brutally blunt with yourself. The good thing is, God already knows.
