Purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. I wrote in my previous post that we all have same purpose and it is to make Christ known to the world and our gift serves as a means or instrument to achieve that purpose. What ever you do that is in line with your purpose leads to impact. Dr. James Naismith who invented the game of basketball embraced Christ. He was the founder of basketball, a Christian theologian who invented the game more than a century ago as a way to reconcile his love of sports with Christian integrity. His story shows the hand of God directing his path. His both parents died within three weeks of contacting typhoid fever. January 14, 1892, he published 13 rules of basketball which goes in line with Christian character. He founded it upon the saying “keep it clean”. He wouldn’t have envisioned it to be what it is today, he had no idea the kind of skills that would evolve over the years by players. The point is he has invented the game basketball with purpose in mind which has cause him to have impacted the world with such a great game but there are still players playing the game without purpose and some others will play with Christ in mind those ones are dominating the game. He was a man of faith devoted to Jesus Christ. Many are not making impact in business, job, school, sport and so on... because they are not playing with purpose, they are paying with selfishness in mind. The sport stars in the hall of fame like Ronaldo was a road side cleaner sweeping the main road as a job but because he was playing with purpose he was able to overcome challenges, work hard, train and learn hard. He once said: “Life only makes sense when our highest ideal is to serve Christ and I collect crucifix necklaces – it’s because of my relationship with God”. Neymar, Messi, Lampard, Kaka. In business, Robert kiosaki does not joke with his tithes and so on... you can be wealthy and rich without paying with purpose but impact is not sure. Discipline is to keep going when it hurts because life doesn’t give you what you want but what you deserve. If you haven’t worked for it, sacrifice for it, give it your own then you don’t deserve it and you won’t get it. Push through the challenges, the truth is the road is rough. When pain comes it means it’s time to show character, stay strong, ignore failure and keep moving, have fighting spirit, believe in yourself, endure hardness. When everything seems hopeless 😩 keep looking away or simply ignore. It shouldn’t get to you or make you worry because consistency is key. There is no one secret to success, it is in your work ethics which is the moral principles that governs your behaviour or the conducting of an activity. It’s is in your consistency which is the quality of always behaving or performing in a similar way, or of always happening in a similar way. It’s in your sacrifice which is to give up (something valued) for the sake of other considerations. Its in sticking it out despite setbacks which is the intransitive to continue further even when your plans or goals failed and you have to start afresh. It is not one thing, it is everything (work ethics, consistency, sacrifice and sticking it out) Do you have what it takes?
