Jealousy can cause people to become evil & covet things they do not have. Those whose eyes are always on what they do not have easily yield to evil thoughts. Don't be covetous. The righteous on the other hand will bear fruits. They are well rooted. This shows they have deep understanding of what they are doing and should be doing. Roots grow with time. The righteous are not in a hurry. The righteous are not in hurry to get to the top, they are in a hurry to follow through the process that leads to the top. Righteousness pays attention to the roots of things. The righteous are not first after fruits as they understand that it takes deep roots to bear good fruits. Be rooted. Be solid. Be authentic. *DAILY DEW 23/SEPTEMBER/2024* *BUILD WITH AUTHENTICITY* _Key Bible Text:_ *"He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread."* Proverbs 12:9 (KJV) _Bible Insight_ Proverbs 12:9 (GNB) It is better to be an ordinary person working for a living than to play the part of someone great but go hungry. Proverbs 12:9 (Amplified) Better is he who is lightly esteemed but works for his own support than he who assumes honor for himself and lacks bread. Proverbs 12:9 (CEV) It's better to be ordinary and have only one servant than to think you are somebody and starve to death. KJV used the word "despised" but some other translations used the word "ordinary". The idea is that you can have just one servant and still be ordinary or despised. But another can package themselves to be great, have a lot more servants but actually go hungry or unable to pay them. The wisdom here is one of balance and modesty. Build your life aunthenically. Enter into that relationship "declaring your assets" or make full disclosure at the right time. Don't pretend to be big, and claim to own an oil company when you are actually a dealer of groundnut oil. Do a small wedding and have a peaceful start at your marital life. Don't feed the nation and live the early days, weeks or months of your married life under the pressure of debts from avoidable wedding expenses. Build your business with authenticity. Don't ever let packaging become synonyms with pretence and lying. Worldly wisdom is commendable to those subject to the fallen adamic nature. Your not being praised and recognized, sometimes, is a sign that you are operating by a standard higher than the prevalent fallen standard of this world. Don't be on the look out for worldly applause, but seek God's approval. The world we live in is fast becoming populated by ungodly standards and preferences. Hence, sometimes, even those who do righteousness suffer unjustly. Those who despise depravity of men's heart are on God's side. *DAILY DEW 21/SEPTEMBER/2024* *BUILT TO LAST* _Key Bible Text:_ *"The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand."* Proverbs 12:7 (KJV) _Bible Insight_ ACTUALLY, "built to last" is an understatement. When we live based on the word of God, we are building our lives to last forever with God. In Matthew 7:21 Jesus said "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:24-25 teaches that laying the bricks of your life according to the architectural design of God's holy word, is the sure way to a life of eternal relevance and impact! Luke 6:47-49 repeats this teaching for emphasis. Don't build based on public opinions and secular wisdom that contradicts the wisdom of the ancient of days! Doing so will be sheer foolishness. Find divine wisdom from God's word. When you find it, by all means, lay down the bricks of your life in line with the word. The words of sinners will seduce and destroy. Those who dwell in wickedness will always speak words that will lead to destruction, failure, compromise, and evil. However, the words of the upright make alive and brings healing and justice. The words of the righteous has the capacity to cancel the evil effect of the words of the wicked. Use your words in the right way. Cancel or disannul every evil intent of the wicked.
