God doesn't appreciate it when we don't reciprocate his goodness and faithfulness. The Apostles understood this, thus your hear them say, *"We love him, because he first loved us."* (1 John 4:19 (KJV)) We didn't do anything for God to love us, but we are expected to do everything to show that we appreciate His love afterwards. The greatest sin of this world and the unbeliever, will remain the fact that Jesus died and rose for sin, yet they chose not to believe. No matter how much or how little you think God has done for you, or not done, you owe God. And the more you realize this, the better for you. *DAILY DEW 4/FEBRUARY/2024* Be Too Hard On Yourself! _Key Bible Text:_ *"And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die"* 2 Samuel 12:5 (KJV) _Bible Insight:_ Push yourself harder. Don't take it easy on yourself and take it hard on others. Judge yourself mercilessly but be nice on others. 1 Corinthians 11:31 (KJV) puts it this way, *"For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged."* The essence is not necessarily to be wicked to yourself. The goal is to become a better version of yourself. Naturally, human nature tends to pamper self, and 'pepper" others! This is man's default set up. Self discipline means reversing this trend or tendency. Rather than always getting mad with others, and being soft and gentle on self, take the heat out on yourself. But be gentle on others. This also plays out by expecting less from others, and more from yourself. *DAILY DEW 3/FEBRUARY/2024* Godly & Wealthy _Key Bible Text:_ *"Now a traveller came to the house of the man of wealth, but he would not take anything from his flock or his herd to make a meal for the traveller who had come to him, but he took the poor man's lamb and made it ready for the man who had come.* (2 Samuel 12:4 (BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ Those who have, get more. Those who don't have, lose even what they have to those who have more! This is both a spiritual and a natural principle. (Luke 8:18) While this principle is true, in the story before us, brother David would not be spared for taking a poor man's own, to add to his own, or to use instead of his. When we try to apply spiritual principles with ungodly mode or conduct, we have breached the divine modus operandi. Having more and more must be with strict adherence to divine instructions. In a world where wealth is worshipped, we must be careful. If being wealthy is God's will, and of course it is, how we become wealthy is also very important to God. Besides, our definition of "wealth" must come form God too--not the world! We can't justify the means, by the end. When we seek anything good, money, fame, advantage, educational qualifications, promotions, etc, we must be sure that the means we employ in the course of reaching our aims, must be God's will too. _MEDITATION:_ *They have wicked minds and have missed out on the truth. *DAILY DEW 31/JANUARY/2024* Daily Sacrifices 4 _Key Bible Text:_ *"The king will use deceit to win followers from those who are unfaithful to God, but those who remain faithful will do everything possible to oppose him."* (Daniel 11:32 (CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits."* (Daniel 11:32 (KJV)) Listen, when you combine these two translation, and focus on the first sentences of both, here is what you shouldn't miss:- And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries And The king will use deceit to win followers from those who are unfaithful to God Pause! To be unfaithful is to be wicked! Those who do wickedly are those who are unfaithful. You cannot afford to be lukewarm. God will spew you out! Unfaithfulness is wickedness. Unfaithfulness is lukewarmness. Unfaithfulness is you preparing yourself to be an easy catch for the devil! If the devil will try the faithful, what is the hope of the unfaithful? You are always the one who misses prayer meetings, either online or offline. You are the one too busy for bible study wether personal or corporately in church. You are the one who hardly attends workers meetings, or unit meetings yet you want to lead or play your role during Sunday service. Hmm You are the one waiting for special call or follow up either from your Pastor or your leader before you join the meeting or play a role. My brother, your unfaithfulness is a mark of wickedness before God. You are being wicked unto the covenant. You will play yourself into the devil's hands o. _MEDITATION:_ Make up your mind. *DAILY DEW 30/JANUARY/2024* Daily Sacrifices 3 _Key Bible Text:_ *"And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits."* (Daniel 11:32 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The king will use deceit to win followers from those who are unfaithful to God, but those who remain faithful will do everything possible to oppose him. (Daniel 11:32 (CEV)) Nothing depicts faithfulness like daily sacrifices! Through faithfulness, you will keep your daily sacrifices. And through your daily sacrifices, you will keep your sanctuary of strength! And as you keep your sanctuary of strength, you will be strong and do exploits for God. It is not only God that is king, rather God is the King of kings. Meanwhile, the devil is the prince of this world, and like a king, he will wield his influences now for only now can he camouflage as a king! Your unfaithfulness with your daily sacrifices, will make you susceptible and liable to be deceived by the devil. He is the master of deception.
