BECOME! (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"He sent messengers to David to report: “I have attacked Rabbah and have captured its water supply. Now gather the rest of your forces, attack the city and take it yourself. I don't want to get the credit for capturing it.”"* (2 Samuel 12:27-28 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
If you live without a God glorifying ambition, you will never have enough drive to achieve great things for God.
"Great" is not defined by the general views and options or opinions of men. What is great, can be big in the eyes of one man, and small in the eyes of another. Hence, while chasing greatness, be sure to align with God's definition. But how do you know God's definition of greatness? This is where you must search God's word for yourself. And seek to know and find your God given purpose.
If you follow another man's own "greatness", you might miss yours. David's greatness required he must face Goliath without Saul's armour. If he had thought that Saul's armour will make him great, he would have lost the battle. Find your God given greatness. A small bag of stones and catapult can bring greatness too. What is your own small stone and catapult?
Secondly, have men, women, people that will push and challenge you. Don't be content being surrounded by yes- men (weak persons who always agrees with their political leader or their superior at work)
This also means, don't be too comfortable with people who praise you or try to always please you. Also keep those who seem to attack or challenge you, around you too.
If Joab had been overly ambitious, he would have taken rabbah for himself. However, he rather pushed David to go take it.
_MEDITATION:_
*If you must become what and who God says you will be, don't get offended when people push you and provoke you to do more and be better!*

_Key Bible Text:_
*"And Joab sent messengers to David and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters. Now therefore assemble the rest of the men, encamp against the city, and take it, lest I take the city, and it be called after my name."* (2 Samuel 12:27-28 (Amplified))
_Bible Insight:_
God has a habit of using ambitious men. Paul was ambitious. Elisha was ambitious. Peter was ambitious. Moses was ambitious. Mary was ambitious. Rehab was ambitious. Stephen was ambitious. David was ambitious.
What do I mean? These were all individuals who had a desire to succeed in life at one level or the other. And of course, what would pass as success for Paul would not be the same for Peter, and vice versa.
God doesn't need you as a no future ambition Christian before he can use you or make you become what he wants you to be.
God will rather interrupt you and change your focus and calling..but he needs your drive high. David may be a teenager going about his father's flock, but to confront a bear and a lion is only possible for the ambitious.
God does not need a no future ambition kind of believers. He wants bekievers who are hungry to become what God wants them to be.
If you think what you are at this moment is good enough, think again. Have enough ambition to strive to become who God wants you to be. ♥ Quit playing small thinking you're waiting for God to get you aiming big ♥ No, rather as you aim bigger, if your focus is not good enough, and if you are sensitive, God will redirect your course to a bigger aim of his own choosing.
_MEDITATION:_
*If David had remained back, Joab would have acquired more estate in His own name. Being a David's servant doesn't mean he has no ambition of his own*

BOUNCE BACK (V)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone."* (2 Samuel 13:15 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
David messed up and so did Amnon. Both involved sexual immorality. However, David accepted responsibility and braced up for his folly and its consequences. Amnon did the opposite; he played the blame game. He hated Tamar as though she did anything wrong in the whole episode.
Life is full of irresponsible approach to issues. People make poor decisions, but rather than take it upon themselves to do whatever good, they can, from that point onward, they blame the government, blame the economy, blame the devil, blame their parents, blame their background, blame their siblings or uncles or relative who in their own estimation refused to help them, and blame anything and anyone blamable.
That's absolutely irresponsible. People who do such never really bounce back from their fall even years after the incident. As a matter of fact, as they won't take responsibility and begin bouncing back, they keep making other poor decisions and at the end of the day, face a negative compound effect or ripple effect that completely makes it impossible to ever come out or bounce back from the mess.
Well, guess what? Two years later, Absalom avenged the shame brought upon his sister. Poor decisions when not managed well, will give birth to many other poor decisions.

BOUNCE BACK (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And David comforted Bath-sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him."* (2 Samuel 12:24 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
When we fall as we will sometimes, we must rise up, pick up the lessons, and move on.
Sometimes, our fall will not be for wrong or poor decisions. Sometimes, our fall will be the result of the inexplicables of life. No matter what, the decision to pick up whatever lessons we can, and move on, must be made.
People don't fail in life because they suffered a momentary fall. People fail, because they dwelt in the past, they allowed whatever had happened, to become a permanent address instead of a temporary set back.
Quit the life of blame and regret. Accept the inevitables of life and brace up to ride on the storms and rise again.
If poor decisions, take us down, wise decisions, will take us up again, right from the same set of things designed to put us down. That is called, using the stones life throws at you, to build up the heap or edifice you stand upon.
Who would have thought that Bath-sheba will mother Solomon? Who would have thought that God who punished or disciplined David and Bath-sheba by allowing the death of the child born from adultery, will still allow them to have a son to take over from David?
I personally think it is because of how David handled the fall and God's judgment that made God, make it up for him.

BOUNCE BACK (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me."* (2 Samuel 12:23 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
There is a part of life that will be hard and unpleasant. It is like they say, life is full of ups and downs. When those downs hit us, we must learn to brace up, and cheer up, again!
The servants of David were surprised to see the King, rise from his state of prayerful mourning. He had been seeking God's face to avert the death of the child. But that didn't happen. His officers were afraid to inform him that the child had finally died. They feared the King would lose it.
David surprised them. He simply rose up, showered and asked for his food. He took it in good faith and spirit. He manned up, he demonstrated courage and accepted the outcome.
Life will not always go as planned. As a matter of fact, life is a series of unplanned events which we must master and make the most of.
