*God Is Not Through With You Yet* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:"* (1 Corinthians 1:28-30 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Solomon only amplified his father's weakness for ladies. He had a huge appetite for women. All shades. Plump. Slim. Arsenal. Manchester. He could not say no to any one that caught his eye. He never discriminated against any lady. All nationalities were present in his harem. He was a very horny king with 700 wives and 300 concubines. They flocked around him because he had money to throw around. Excessive debauchery. Yet, God appeared to him many times and gave him an open cheque.
New Testament?
John the Baptist was very powerful and many feared him. A trail blazer who was quite unusual. Eccentric. But towards the end of his life, he doubted many things he knew. Gave in to depression and self-pity. Yet, no man born of woman is greater than John the Baptist.
Peter was very presumptuous. A talkative who always spoke before he thinks. He was also impulsive. Behind the gra gra surface was a veneer of cowardice. A man who could not stand up to a maid later stood in front of thousands a few months later and led 3,000 to Christ in one day.
Paul was an accessory to murder. He was sold out to exterminating believers. He had gone to collect letters authorizing him to arrest any believer he came across when he had a life-changing encounter that led to him writing half of the New Testament.
The Bible did not gloss over their characters or whitewash them. Through their humanity, we also understand how frail we are and how we all go through similar trials and temptations. Through their victories, we are encouraged that we can also overcome our frailties and be victorious.
The Bible is a perfect book of imperfect characters- people just like us, warts and all. Their stories were written to reassure us that God's grace is sufficient for us and His power is made perfect in our weakness.
Don't give up! God is not through with you yet.
_MEDITATION:_
*"For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]."* (Heb 4:15-16 Amplified))

*God Is Not Through With You Yet* (I)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty"* (1 Corinthians 1:26-27 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
I love the Bible.
It's a very real, practical and down-to-earth book. Very relatable. It doesn't gloss over the characters foibles. Shows you the characters struggle just like we do.
Sarah's jealousy was never hidden. She was a very strong character who was over-bearing and a nag. If you're woke, you'll describe her as wicked for instigating the expulsion of a mother with a child. Yet, she was called mother of many nations.
Abraham slept with his househelp. Got her pregnant. That was scandalous. His wife asked him to? Was he eyeing the househelp before? He told lies in the face of imminent danger. Not exactly courageous if you ask me. A simp but he was called a friend of God.
Esther has been touted as a role model. But was she? She entered a beauty contest where one of the conditions was to sleep with the king. Yes, she slept with the boss to climb the ladder and improve her career prospects. Yet, she has a book named after her.
Judah was a slave trader who patronized prostitutes and slept with his daughter-in-law. The products of the one-night stand were twins. A broke ass who slept with prostitutes on credit. But Jesus came through his tribe and is called the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
The story of Jacob is well known. A serial cheat, liar and fugitive. He played a fast one on his blind father. He was the Hushpuppi of his generation. His inspiration was his mum who played one child against the other. Yet, he became so great God was named after him- God of Jacob.
David. Had an eye for women. Michal. Ahinoam Abigail. Maacah.Haggith. Abital. Eglah. Bathsheba. At least 8 wives. Murdered the husband of one of them and almost murdered the husband of another. To be sure David was dying, they had to put a young lady beside him to keep him warm. It was when he didn't have an erection that they knew he was truly gone. David was also a poor father. His children were indisciplined. One almost killed him and another raped the sister. His was a house of commotion. Nevertheless, his lineage was established forever with him being an ancestor of Jesus.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men."* (1 Corinthians 1:25 (KJV))

*Jesus Christ, Our Faithful Partner*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."* (1 Corinthians 1:8-9 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
The promise and goal of God, is to present us faultless at the end of our life's journey on this side of eternity. This is dear to the heart of God:- *"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy"* (Jude 1:24 (KJV))
That's one of the greatest plans God has in store for us. That's the vision of Jesus. You see it in his prayers and teachings with his disciples:- *"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; THAT WHERE I AM, THERE YE MAY BE ALSO. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know."* (John 14:3-4 (KJV)) To know that this is vital in the mind of Christ, who is a faithful partner is key!
It is one of the core prayers of Jesus:- *"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world."* (John 17:24 (KJV))
The best part in all these is, as far as Christ is concerned He is faithful to make this happen however not without our participation! *"God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has INVITED you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."*
We have been invited into a partnership with Jesus. The vision and goal of Jesus to present us firm and faultless cannot be achieved when our voluntary partnership and responsibility is not reciprocated or undertaken. This is why a holistic study reveals how we have a role too to play:- _Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. *And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.*_ (1 John 3:2-3 (KJV))
Beloved, we are in a divine partnership with Jesus. In every partnership (fellowship) both parties have a role to play, for such to be effective. On the part of God, He is faithful and ever faithful but on our part, are we faithful?
_MEDITATION:_
*"God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."* (1 Corinthians 1:9(Amplified Bible))

*BUT THE WORD PREACHED DID NOT PROFIT THEM*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it."* (Hebrews 4:2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Don't marry someone because you met them in CHURCH. Church is like HOSPITAL some patients are not responding to TREATMENT. 🥺🥺 -- Ogungbe Deyon
Be reminded that Judas was around the word for 3½ years and he remained the same. In fact, the final meeting he attended was one in which Christ showed them the significance of the passover - His sacrifice! Yet, it was from that meeting he finally made up his mind to sell Jesus for money. If you're not listening as you ought, you can dance around the word for years but nothing will change. -- Adebowale Ibukun Tosin
The tragedy of life is to be exposed to the word of God, without allowing the word of God transform you. The Word of God is powerful but without your participation it will just be like a carefully wrapped gift package that the owner has refused to open or make use of.
Don't dance around the word without doing the Word. Don't be a word critique without being a word creative. Don't use the word to judge others, while using the word to excuse yourself. Don't use the word as a make up, without letting the word become your internal make up! Don't use the word as a lyrics, without using the word as a life guide!
_MEDITATION:_
*"But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience)."* James 1:25 (Amplified Bible)

*FAITHFUL IN A VERY LITTLE*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities."* (Luke 19:17 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
As a minister (and we all are called to the ministry), your spiritual assignment is usually given to you in seed form in your preparatory years as you serve others
Whatever instructions you receive either directly from the lord or through responsibilities assigned you by your spiritual oversight, learn to do it diligently
Don't dodge or shy away from such opportunities
Such diligence always pays off
Usually therein lies the future expression of what you will be engaged in doing the rest of your days
For instance, the man who has spent much time studying privately and holding personal vigils in prayer is never at a loss as to what to do when he is called upon to lead men along the same lines
In leading others he won't be doing anything different from what he has previously exercised himself diligently doing for years in private
Only now it will be before an appreciative audience of faithful men who will be trained as he was also trained.
_MEDITATION:_
*"I pray that at the preparatory stage you will not handle with levity the assignment Christ gave you due to failure to recognise it because it's in seed form!"*
