(The Message) Proverbs 11:23 What good people want always results in good; when the wicked get what they want, everyone is angry. (GNB) Proverbs 11:23 The desire of the upright man is only for good, but wrath is waiting for the evil-doer. (BBE) Proverbs 11:23 Good people want what is best, but troublemakers hope to stir up trouble. (CEV) ..... Imagine a table, with "Righteous" & "Wicked" on each side of the divide. Under the righteous column you are going go have good works like kindness, love, mercy, patience, diligence, prayerfulness etc Under the wicked column, you are going to have things like, anger, hatred, envy, jealousy, backbiting, evil desires, etc When you see the wicked, their works will show it. It does not end well in the end. (The Message) Proverbs 11:22 Beauty in a woman without good judgment is like a gold ring in a pig's snout. (GNB) Proverbs 11:22 Like a ring of gold in the nose of a pig, is a beautiful woman who has no sense. (BBE) Proverbs 11:22 A beautiful woman who acts foolishly is like a gold ring on the snout of a pig. (CEV) ..... The point is, beauty without sense is dirty and an anticlimax. It is a strategic minus. It is not a place to be. Luckily, unlike beauty, sense can be built or developed. (The Message) Proverbs 11:21 You can be sure that evil people will be punished, but the righteous will escape. (GNB) Proverbs 11:21 Certainly the evil-doer will not go free from punishment, but the seed of the upright man will be safe. (BBE) Proverbs 11:21 You can be sure of this: All crooks will be punished, but God's people won't. (CEV) ..... We are quick to excuse ourselves as not being wicked. Assuming that we are correct, the question is, do we know what God considers as wickenedss? Do we know how God deals with wicked acts? Do we know what God thinks about the things we dismiss as non-wickedness?
