*RECEIVING THE TEACHINGS OF YOUR PASTOR*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And now we look back on all this and thank God, an artesian well of thanks! When you got the Message of God we preached, you didn't pass it off as just one more human opinion, but you took it to heart as God's true word to you, which it is, God himself at work in you believers!"* (1 Thessalonians 2:13 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
You're being Pastored by words. These words are precious and divine. These words can become a blessing to you on earth or a curse. These words will justify or condemn you on the last day.
God put words in your Pastor to make your life with it. It's to your advantage if you know how to receive those words.
See how the Thessalonian Christians received the words of their Pastor:
1 Thessalonians 2:13
[13]For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, *when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God,* which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
These Christians knew that the words from their Pastor was God's word, not his. That is the first thing you need to know and do if you'll maximally benefit from the teachings and instructions of your Pastor.
Don't wait for your Pastor to say, "thus say the Lord" before you take it seriously. It's not how he says it, it's how you received the words that matters.
Your Pastor is standing in for God. He is pastoring you on behalf of the chief shepherd - Jesus Christ (1Pet. 5:4). Disdaining or commonising his words is directly insulting Jesus (Matt. 10:40).
Because this set of Christians took their Pastors words just like they would if God was to appear physically and talk to them, we're told the word worked effectually in them.
Jesus had 12 close disciples. They all listened to Him but they received the words and teachings differently. Judas ended up as a thief and the others as great Apostles (Acts 4:13).
They attended the same Church with the same Pastor but ended differently. *It's not how the Pastor is teaching, it is how you're receiving what is being taught.*
You cannot be blessed by a Church and Pastor whose teachings you don't revere. This is why some in Church are stagnant and are becoming frustrated while many others are enjoying quantum growth and increase.
Learn something from the Thessalonian Christians today and see your progress become tangible.
_MEDITATION:_
*"You won't gain anything resisting the words of your Pastor like Joanne's and Jambres (2Tim 3:8), Alexander the coppersmith (2Tim 4:15). Don't be an Elymas (Acts 13:8) instead be a Thessalonian.*

*THE POWER OF POSITIVE FEAR* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God"* (Genesis 42:18 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
"...For I fear God"
Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV) counsels us as follows *"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."*
This is the WHOLE duty of man! That's to say, there is nothing that God expects of man than that MAN FEARS GOD and keeps his commandments!
Joseph could have gotten back at his siblings who maltreated him, left him for dead, and sold him off to slavery, but HE FEARED GOD!
Joseph could have slept with Potiphar's wife, but He FEARED GOD!
Joshua 24:14 (KJV) reminds us as follows: *"Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD."*
Every believer has crossed the floods and have escaped Egypt. Before the flood and within Egypt, you don't have need for the fear of God. No, you don't. Anything goes in Egypt and before the floods. But once you have crossed the floods of the red sea, and have escaped Egypt of worldliness, you MUST embrace the fear of God.
Mark this! The evidence that you have crossed the floods of the old man and escaped the corruption of Egypt, and slavery to sin, is the PRESENCE OF THE FEAR OF GOD IN AND UPON YOUR LIFE!
_MEDITATION:_
*"Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent."* (Acts 13:26 (KJV))

*THE POWER OF POSITIVE FEAR* (I)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"They have no fear of God at all.""* (Romans 3:18 (NLT))
_Bible Insight:_
"I will pray, I will pray
I will pray o, I will pray
If I don't pray, Satan will make mess of me" -- Ebuka
The first time I heard the lyrics of this song by Ebuka, I was a little uncomfortable with it. It was not in sync with my growth level then.
Lately, the song came up in my spirit. As my custom is, when some songs rise up within me, I will download it if I don't have it, and play it for a while. Sometimes, I could spend some time searching for the song till I get it.
So I found this song by Ebuka and began to sing and pray. It immediately began to bless me. After a while, a conversation rose up within me.
Voice 1: But are you not praying because you are afraid of what the devil might do or because of the negative consequences of not praying? 🤨
Voice 2: Don't you remember what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:16 (KJV)? *"For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!"* So he preached and did ministry as effectively as he did, because the fear of God upon his life convinced him that he was doomed if he doesn't preach as much as he did! Yes! Fear is also God's way of leading his children!
I immediately saw the light in this matter. God's people must have the fear of God, this positive fear, otherwise, they are not God's people!
The fear of God places you in alignment with God's commandments. You know you have to keep His word, because you know consequences await if you don't. *The presence of the fear of God does not and cannot equal the absence of the love of God.* Rather, the fear of God, gives expression and evidence of your love for God. Your love for God is actually spelled as fear of God, as far as God is concerned.
Do you have the fear of God at all?
_MEDITATION:_
*"If you check your life, and you discover that you no longer fear God, the beginning of the end of your faith walk has just began! Covet the fear of God in and upon your life."*

*DAILY DEW 1/FEBRUARY/2023*
*THE POWER OF CONSISTENCY*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Does anyone dare despise this day of small beginnings? They'll change their tune when they see Zerubbabel setting the last stone in place!" Going back to the vision, the Messenger-Angel said, "The seven lamps are the eyes of GOD probing the dark corners of the world like searchlights."* (Zechariah 4:10 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
*"It’s not the last strike that fells the tree. It’s the sum total of all strikes that do. We like the big and spectacular but that’s not how life works. Commit to doing some things daily and then it accumulates.
Commit to:
1) reading one chapter of the Bible daily.
2) reading one chapter of any other book daily or subscribe to Blinkist and read one book summary Daily. They even give you one book summary free everyday.
3) commit to praying for 15 minutes daily.
4) commit to running N1,000 per day ad to your website daily.
The law of compounding effort works. It’s the 8th wonder of the world."* --- Nkwocha Tochukwu
Don't just aim to do great things, aim to do small things greatly! If you only wait for when the big breaks will come, and keep waiting for the best days of your life to come, you will discover that you have limited yourself on the long run. And what if the big breaks never comes like you had expected? But if you live each day doing everything that comes your way, with great passion, great faith, great expectations, surely though gradually, your big breaks will emerge.
God in His wisdom, has placed the small things as disguised packages for the great things of life. It is such an irony. Who will ever imagine that the baby born in a manger in the middle of no where, will be the saviour of the world? Don't ever underestimate or undermine the so called little things of and in your life.
Once again, don't just aim to do great things, aim to do small things greatly, excitedly, daily and consistently. And as you do, before you know it, greatness will emerge.
