*DAILY DEW 11/APRIL/2023* *DISCIPLESHIP LED GROWTH* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: AS MY FATHER HATH SENT ME, EVEN SO SEND I YOU."* (John 20:21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Jesus laid down a unique example. First, he prayerfully and painstakingly picked twelve men, almost randomly. He took his time, efforts, examples, teachings, parables, disciplines to model how these twelve were to become like him in living life on earth. While he was still at it, he picked three from the same twelve, and paid even more closer attention on them. As if that was not enough, he picked one from the three and allowed this one, be even more closer to him. Each of these men would end up becoming almost exact clones of Jesus, in conduct, character and life goals and dreams. Lest I forget, he picked other seventy to do same close-up life teachings and trainings for. And by the time of his death and resurrection, he had at least one hundred and twenty carefully taught and trained men that became disciples of Jesus, among others. Now, when Jesus said, as the Father had sent him, we need to remember that this was how he answered or fulfilled what the Father had sent him to do. Haven settled that, it would be, therefore, appropriate to say that He carefully chose his words, when He said, "EVEN SO, SEND I YOU!" This definitely meant that He CAME TO EARTH on the assignment commanded or decided by the Father. And just as the Father had initiated this assignment, even so he is initiating the same assignment to us, His disciples. The logical conclusion would mean that the focus of Jesus, must remain our focus and His methods in principle, must remain ours too. By the time we are done, or about to be done, we should be able to say, we have actually been sent by the Lord Jesus! If we must therefore fulfill the great commission, we will do well, to tailor our approaches and methods and teachings to the original pattern delivered by Jesus. *DAILY DEW 10/APRIL/2023* *POST RESURRECTION COMMISSION* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you."* (John 20:21 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ If the last words of Jesus before the Cross will not be strong enough to compel you, the first words of Jesus after the Cross, death & Resurrection should do justice. Before the Cross, Jesus had severally told his disciples how they were to go into all the world, even as the Father sent him into this world. But somehow, it never stuck. Peter, well considered as leader, was the first to say... *"I go a fishing."* They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing." John 21:3 (KJV) It took another session of Jesus appearance after His Resurrection, to correct the misplaced drive and energy of the pioneer disciples of Christ, and by extension,the church. Striking to me was what Jesus would repeat when he did appear after his Resurrection. *"Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you."* (John 20:21 (KJV)) This is to show very clearly what matters most to Jesus. It is definitely His way of saying, *"If there is anything you won't take away from my life, death and all, please remember that you have a great commission to fulfill! That is the point of this whole thing!"* Friends, as we reflect over the death and Resurrection of Christ, it is of vital importance that we recognize the pulse and heart beat of God. I feel strongly persuaded that should Christ physically, bodily reappear in our midst today, he would repeat the exact same message. This message came as a matter of urgency. This is what was of most importance to Christ. This was his first appearance after death, and he was all about REEMPHASIZING THE GREAT COMMAND-- *"as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you"* In this season, consider that it has been several years since Jesus repeated these message. Consider that the commission is yet to be conclusively carried out. Consider that if you are born again, you are one of those Jesus is depending on to carry out his commands. "So send I you" So send I you! So send I you! Have you not been sent? Are you on course? Have you any souls to show for your obedience? Have you any report for Him as per how far you have fared? Or you are not aware that He is patiently waiting for your report of souls won? If you are not living today as one who have been sent by Christ, you are misrepresenting Christ. If you are not going about carrying out the kind of works Jesus did while on earth, you are not fulfilling kingdom purpose. Having the right support systems There are relationships you'll need to guard with your life. Just as Hur and Joshua held up Moses hand, your sustained excelling is tied to the presence of certain destiny men and women in your life. Don't toy with them. Respect the grace they add to your life, and downplay their weaknesses if any. 5. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi; (Exodus 17:15 ASV) Hebrews 11 tells us that the things which are seen were made from the things which are not seen. The strength of your rising in the kingdom is dependent on the strength of your altar. Don't let any level of result distract you from the Most High. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. *DAILY DEW 4/APRIL/2023* *RECEIVING THE TEACHINGS OF YOUR PASTOR - (VI)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia."* (1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 _Bible Insight:_ The Thessalonians were examples to other believers and churches. The example was that they disciplined themselves to receive the word from their Pastor. They had good reasons not to but they refused to accept it. They persisted to keep receiving the word. Satan is doing his best to limit how much you hear your Pastor or even stop you from receiving from him. He does this by making you come late or even absent yourself from Church. Don't allow flimsy excuses keep you away from Church where God has designated for you to receive from your Pastor. 1 Thessalonians 2:18 [18]Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us. The devil knows what listening to a Pastor can do to you. He tried to stop Paul from going to the Thessalonians so that they wouldn't have the opportunity to hear him. *DAILY DEW 3/APRIL/2023* *RECEIVING THE TEACHINGS OF YOUR PASTOR - (V)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life."* (John 6:60,66-68) _Bible Insight:_ These disciples (or Church members) couldn't endure receiving the teachings of their Pastor. They found a reason to leave. Are you like them? There will always be distractions and obstacles seeking to hinder your reception of the word of God through your Pastor. It's your job to deal with the issues and receive with meekness the word of life. Satan, perhaps more than some Christians out there know the value of the words, instructions and teachings from their Pastors. The devil will try to build a wall between you and Your Pastor or distract you from receiving from your man of God. Some disciples today won't leave. They remain in the Church but their ears and heart is somewhere else. Such are worse than those who left physically. If they found a reason to leave Jesus. If they could justify leaving Jesus, then anyone who doesn't want to receive his Pastor will still find seemingly good reasons to leave. There are folks today who are like these ones that left Jesus because of his teachings. God gave them a Pastor to feed them with the word but it's for the same reason that they'll leave the Pastor and the Church. The response of the other disciples is noteworthy and exemplary. Peter on behalf of the others said we have come to discover that you are teaching what we need. Your instructions may be tough but it's for our own good. You must come to this point in your walk with your Pastor. This is where you'll begin to enjoy the best from him. Those tough instructions are for your good. *DAILY DEW 31/MARCH/2023* *A DEEP CONNECTION WITH GOD* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward."* (Matthew 6:5) _Bible Insight:_ Since last night, my heart has been troubled, and I couldn't sleep. I can't help but wonder how Old Testament believers achieved such a deep connection with God without any difficulty. Their relationship with God was so effortless and cordial. They spoke, God heard, and God spoke to them in return. No spiritual acrobatics. No overly verbose prayers. They didn't even have access to the full presence of the Holy Spirit or the Bible, yet their relationship with God appears to have been deeper than what we experience today. Until this morning, my spirit was uneasy, craving answers. I yearned to know how they did it, how they achieved such a seamless connection with God. After dropping my child off at school, I returned to my study to seek answers. And in the most unexpected way, the Holy Spirit provided me with the answer I sought. He said, "They had a KISS relationship with God," where KISS stands for Keep It Spiritual and Simple. They had a simple and spiritual relationship with God. The Holy Spirit then directed me to John 4:24, which reads, "God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and Truth." Truth in there means the sincere state of their hearts. The genuineness of their intent. The pureness of their motives. They were not perfect, but despite their imperfection, the Old Testament believers understood how to worship God through their Spirit (their heart) and not just their flesh. Their spiritual practices and prayers were more of an internal expression rather than an outward display. After the Holy Spirit dropped those words in my heart, Jesus' words in Matthew 6 made sense to me: "But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard.
