The first time i met you, life was like a country song. You were the easy-going, carefree fresh breeze I was looking for but didn’t even know it. Everything that had felt so complicated before felt so easy with you. My heart was pounding, and I was tongue-tied but it felt so right, walking alongside you. I couldn’t wait to see what else we could do, what else we could be and what other adventures you would take me on. I was happy. Being with someone who I loved, who loved me back was new to me. I was used to the endless pursuit of people I couldn’t have, people who didn’t want me. I was used to the unwanted and the lonely. The attention from you felt refreshing, but also unreal.
