ASSURANCE OF SALVATION What is Assurance? The Hebrew word for assurance is “betach” while the Greek term is “plerophoria” which means “Full confidence” or “Full conviction.” Assurance of salvation is the believer’s full conviction that he is in the present possession of a salvation in which he will be eternally kept. This assurance is a result of his perfect righteousness in Christ Jesus. Note: A person may have eternal security and lack personal assurance. It is true of Pentecostal brethren concept (Isa. 32:7; 2Tim 1:12).
