David Joshua Egbochuo  23rd May, 2021 - from App

*DAILY DEW 23RD/MAY/2021* *PENTECOST WITHOUT POWER?* _Key Bible Text:_ *And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.* (Luke 24:49 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Since it was discovered that after His resurrection, Jesus remained on earth, appearing and disappearing for a space of 40 days before he finally ascended to heaven, many believers have figured that 40 days after we mark his death & resurrection, we should also mark the day of Pentecost, signaling the arrival of the Holy Ghost baptism on the disciples. This among many Pentecostals have given rise to "Pentecost Service", "Pentecost Week", "Pentecost Day" etc. However, the question that begs for attention is, was that why Jesus asked the pioneer disciples to tarry in Jerusalem? In other words, was it so that we would have another ceremonious day or week or event to add to the Christian calendar? I think there is more. The idea is not that the practice is wrong. Not necessarily. However, the point of Pentecost must never be lost while we mark our calendars and special programs. For instance, when we call for our Pentecost week, what about the rest of the 51 weeks of the year? Should they be Pentecost-less? What's the real point of Pentecost? Should it be relegated to a week or should it be manifest in every service and in our daily living? Here is the idea: Pentecost was a special day because the disciples received the enduement of power as promised by the Father. Power became literally manifest in the lives of the disciples. The focus of Pentecost is not about just receiving "the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues" No! The disciples did not only speak in tongues. They walked, lived and commanded literal power after the Holy Ghost came upon them! This is what we should seek after everyday of our lives and not just in a Pentecost Service -- Power! MEDITATION: *May God help us to individually ponder on the question: Where is the POWER?* *#David Joshua Egbochuo* *#Sunday_wisdomforliving* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#Wonders_of_Grace* *#Hello_May* ❤ *NEWS FLASH:* 🥳🥳 Links To Visit: *Podcast:* https://anchor.fm/daily-dew-devotional/episodes/TROUBLED-elli7h *FB Pages* https://www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ https://www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ https://www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *DDDblog* http://dailydewdevotion.blogspot.com/2021/05/pentecost-without-power.html *Telegram Group:* https://t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends.
