*DAILY DEW 12/MAY/2024* *GUARDED HEARTS* _Key Bible Text:_ *Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.* (Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Your heart must be guarded. You owe it a duty to yourself, your neighbours, your future, your generation, and your God, to guard your heart with all diligence. Matthew 15:18-19 (CEV) But the words that come out of your mouth come from your heart. And they are what make you unfit to worship God. Out of your heart come evil thoughts, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, vulgar deeds, stealing, telling lies, and insulting others. As powerful as the tongue is, it is what the heart permits that comes from it. It is what the heart digests and accepts that comes from the tongue. The key of the tongue is the heart. How do one guard one's heart?! 1. Check or correct the focus of your heart. If your affection is on things above, your focus will eventually regulate the culture you imbibe and the things you meditate on. 2. Make a habit of agreeing and believing God's words. This creates a pattern for your heart. 3. Make a habit of self Examination or heart examination. The heart is powerful and should never be underestimated. A consistent check to be sure we are in line with the word is paramount. _MEDITATION:_ *"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
