*DAILY DEW 11/APRIL/2024* *Spiritual Disciplines* (4) _Key Bible Text:_ *"My son, do not despise or shrink from the chastening of the Lord [His correction by punishment or by subjection to suffering or trial]; neither be weary of or impatient about or loathe or abhor His reproof, For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights."* Proverbs 3:11-12 (Amplified)) _Bible Insight:_ ....Neither be weary of or impatient about or loathe or abhor His reproof, For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights. God's punishment is not only physical or through challenges or trials. In the new testament, God does more of corrections by His word, and through the ministry of the Holy Spirit who drives godly sorrow and repentance. Take Peter for instance. He took the word of Jesus as a prior rebuke and felt great godly sorrow when he remembered the word of the master:- Mark 14:72 (KJV) And the second time the cock crew. And PETER CALLED TO MIND THE WORD THAT JESUS SAID UNTO HIM, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when HE THOUGHT thereon, he wept. God's word is designed to bring corrections and instructions unto righteousness.
