*DAILY DEW 31/OCTOBER/2023* *TONGUES* (V) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?"* (1 Corinthians 12:30) _Bible Insight:_ The second thing to understand is that Paul is bringing order to how the gifts are manifested in a typical church service. The teaching on the gifts has a local church service context. It is why he says in 1 Corinthians 14:23-- *If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?* And again in 1 Corinthians 14:26, it says *"How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying."* It is why the emphasis of 1 Corinthians 12,13, 14 is actually edification and love. For a healthy body is one that exists in harmony. If the body doesn’t edify itself then the body eventually gets diseased and then dies.
