David Joshua Egbochuo  14th May, 2023

*DAILY DEW 14/MAY/2023* *CALLED UNTO LIBERTY* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family."* (Leviticus 25:10 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Origins or beginnings or roots are very helpful in getting the background or purpose of a matter. Liberty as a concept began with God establishing a period when all properties not belonging to you must be returned and all slaves must be returned to their families and even the land will be allowed to rest from farming. It was that serious. So all slaves would be allowed to return to their families or be giving full entitlements as free borns. There was this sense and celebration of liberty that was to characterize the entire year. So when we say liberty, we must think of this freedom from a system that have held sway for all times or almost. It is a freedom from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 (KJV): *"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."* But where there is a freedom from a system of sin, there must be a commitment to a system of righteousness. How was this liberty secured? Through death of Christ. This death was no ordinary death. It is a death that took into account our sinful lots. In other words, it was a substitutionary death. We had Christ died for us but took profit of his death. *For he that is dead is freed from sin.* (Romans 6:7 (KJV)) And being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:18 (KJV)) Thus the conclusion: For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (Romans 6:20,22 (KJV)) _MEDITATION:_ *Our liberty in Christ must never be considered a freedom to go live as we please. Rather, it a freedom to come live in the realities of Christ-- something we could never do before even if we had wanted to, assuming we could desire to.* *#David_Joshua_Egbochuo* *#Daily_Wisdom_for_living* *#Becoming_More_Like_Jesus* *#The_Rise_of_An_Army* *#Daily_Dew_Devotional* *#Hello_MAY,2023* ❤ Links To Visit: *FB Pages* https://www.facebook.com/DavidJoshuaEgbochuo/ https://www.facebook.com/thedavidgen/ https://www.facebook.com/THEREVIVALCORPS/ *Telegram Group:* https://t.me/joinchat/NzXQlVc9Hx7LfaRSnh9fHg Feel Free to Share with Friends.
