*DAILY DEW 3RD/MARCH/2022* *MARCHING TOWARDS MATURITY* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"What I say is this: let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature. For what our human nature wants is opposed to what the Spirit wants, and what the Spirit wants is opposed to what our human nature wants. These two are enemies, and this means that you cannot do what you want to do."* (Galatians 5:16-17 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ What does it cost to have a crowd of people who are not ready to serve Jesus? Make ministry look very convenient! Convenient discipleship is a scam! Jesus says we must count the cost and deny ourselves in order to follow Him - speaking of service. Salvation is a free gift but discipleship and serving Jesus requires that we deny ourselves daily. *Hence, Jesus says we ought to count the cost. It is not convenient to study, pray, and go after souls!* The moment you remove the word 'labour' from your service to Christ, what you have left is zero service. Ministry is labour! Jesus chased people out of the temple because they were buying and selling, not because buying and selling was bad in itself. It was about where they were doing it. The temple was not built for buying and selling. Jesus' act was about restoring order and purpose! *There are good activities not suitable for church gatherings.* We have a pattern of what is to be found in our gathering in the scriptures - God's word, prayers, and breaking of bread. Not comedy, entertainment, and fun fair activities! It's sad to watch the body of Christ increasingly adopting fleshly methods to win the world. The Wisdom of God to save is His Gospel! Don't have a message and then be looking for bible verses that sound like it. That's how heresies are developed. The scriptures have a message that must be discovered through study. We don't approach to find verses for what's already in our minds. We approach to learn what God is saying in His word! So that we can fill our minds with what God is already saying in His word instead! _MEDITATION:_ *"It is hard to develop a consistent bible study and prayer culture as you submit to a sound local church. But it is harder to live without the influence of the word and prayers.
