*DAILY DEW 11/SEPTEMBER/2024* *The Wise & The Fool* _Key Bible Text:_ *... the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.* Proverbs 11:29-30 (KJV) _Bible Insight_ *" ... the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart. The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men--he gathers and receives them for eternity]."* (Proverbs 11:29-30 Amplified Bible) The wise. They rule over foolish. The fool. He serves the wise. That's easy to say. But who is wise and how are they to be identified? A lot of things can show a wise person. A wise person when rebuked, takes correction, amends their ways and gets better. A foolish person hates to be corrected. They stubbornly remain unchanged and undisturbed even when their lives aren't going right. But another way to know a wise person is that, they are bent on getting it right in life with God and helping others get it right with God. A wise person fears and seeks to know the Lord more. A wise person also seeks to make the Lord known. When we repeatedly do things that demands to be corrected, and when corrected we refuse to listen or repent, we become a source of trouble to the family. When we do things that are wrong or offend others or work injustice upon others, we open the family to public reproach. Our ill conduct outside the family, can also be a source of trouble to the family. Your inability to grow, improve upon yourself, and become a source of hope and help to the members of your family, can become a source of trouble to the family. Make up your mind to be different! And remember, family also means the place of worship, the church or the place where you work can also become a kind of family. *DAILY DEW 09/AUGUST/2024* *DON'T TROUBLE YOUR FAMILY* _Key Bible Text:_ *He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.* Proverbs 11:29 (KJV) _Bible Insight_ Proverbs 11:29 Those who bring trouble on their families will have nothing at the end. Foolish people will always be servants to the wise. (GNB) Proverbs 11:29 The troubler of his house will have the wind for his heritage, and the foolish will be servant to the wise-hearted. (BBE) Proverbs 11:29 Fools who cause trouble in the family won't inherit a thing. They will end up as slaves of someone with good sense. (CEV) ..... THE idea of troubling one's family does not sound like something anyone will want to do. But there are different ways people consciously or unconsciously trouble their families. One example is comparison. Always bringing your family up in order to talk about it in the light of what you noticed in other families. This when done excessively can bring about discontent and discouragement. Focus on your family. Mind your family. Learn and appreciate its uniqueness and study to see how to better your lot and not disdain or condemn what is obtainable. Spouses should not compare their partners with others or their ex.
