God doesn't lead people away from churches. As messed up as some churches in Revelation were, there is no one instance God ask it to shut down or make members leave. We see Jesus in the midst, with the Seven candlesticks in his hands. Nothing going forward should make you break ranks with your local church. Make where you are the last place you will worship and serve till he comes or calls you home. Things go wrong? Join in and make it right. Church not growing? intercede and win souls you settle into the church. Put your heart, soul, mind, strength, influence, gifts, and money into the minustry of your local church in 2023. *DAILY DEW 10/JANUARY/2023* *The Last Days in The New Year* (V) _Key Bible Text:_ *Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:* (1 Timothy 4:3-4 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The subject of meats is perhaps a more deeper or controversial one in the body of Christ. Under divine revelation, we are being made to understand that in these last days it would be a pattern that some believers would command that certain meats be abstained from. These could be for a number of reasons. The major reasons being either for uncleanness or for being sacrificed to idols. Uncleanness in this sense refers to the old testament order where certain meats were not approved for consumption for God's people. That aside, even some traditions or culture of some people do not permit some kinds of meat to be consumed. Refusing to consume meats on the ground of being sacrificed to idols is probably more common. Believers sometimes wonder whether certain meats offered or allegedly offered to idols should be accepted. A close reading of scripture already provided a direction. *"For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer."* (1 Timothy 4:4-5 (KJV)) Then again we are told as follows: "_As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one._ _For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)_ _But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him._ (1 Corinthians 8:4-6 (KJV)) So while it is clear that these gods holds no power that can affect the believer, yet, for another reason, being one founded on love, a word of caution is given-- don't eat such meat that would become a cause of stumbling to a brother or sister who is weak in the faith. (See 1st Corinthians 8 for more) Note also that the "meat" is also not only in the literal sense and bear in mind also that sometimes the Holy Spirit will specifically instruct an individual to not consume a certain "meats" (again note that this may not be limited to meats but anything not sinful in itself but could lead to sin, e.g. clothing or fashion). *DAILY DEW 9/JANUARY/2023* *The Last Days in The New Year* (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *FORBIDDING TO MARRY, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.* (1 Timothy 4:3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In these last days, it will be one of the signs when people for whatever reasons, are forbidding to marry or forbidden to marry. Remember that even when Apostle Paul seemed to encourage celibacy he never forbad anyone from marrying. _"Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."_ (1 Corinthians 7:1-2 (KJV)) It is important to rather emphasize fidelity, purity and chastity than celibacy! Every man have his own wife (not wives), and every woman her own husband (not husbands). This is encouraged rather than claiming to not marry while at the same time, defiling women or men, being baby mamas, encouraging and practicing self imposed single parenting. All these have become the order of the day, and it is a sign of the last days. The onslaught on the family unit or system as God envisaged and designed it, is Satan's strategy in these last days. The high propensity for divorce and separation is the enemy's hand work. Every serious follower of Jesus must be aware and be prepared to uphold God's standard in these matters. So "forbidding to marry" is a strategy of the enemy which believers must confront. And the enemy is using different subtle methods to achieve it. Beware and pray against these. May God deliver our marriage institution from the stronghold of the enemy in Jesus name. Amen _MEDITATION:_ *"For I would that all men were even as I myself. *DAILY DEW 8/JANUARY/2023* *The Last Days in The New Year* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron* (1 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Even when you refuse to turn your back from the faith, the enemy still has lots of schemes to use against believers and non-believers alike in these last days. I was in a meeting the other day, and the issue of adjusting age for the sake of getting an appointment came up. This was a meeting of believers. And one of us was bold and firm to assert that there is nothing wrong with reducing your age in order to secure a job even as a Christian. His idea was that God can use even such to bless or help the person. I was so vexed in my Spirit that such a position was even up for debate. Just how can the lie not be so glaring to a believer? We are living in days of classic hypocrisy and double standards that promotes lying and lack of integrity. When situations and circumstances come calling you to compromise, to state some half truths, to deny the factual, to adjust something that is true to something that is convenient but exaggerated, remember there is a spirit of the last days at work. Its aim is to suck you up into the mess. Its aim is to make you no different than the unsaved. Beware. When you adjust the truth just a little in the course of negotiating a business deal, or presenting a proposal, answering questions in an interview, etc does your conscience prick you or you simply rationalize and commonize it and wave it off!? When you tell your (intending) spouse or business partner something that is less than the actual fact, do you dismiss it as a mere diplomatic move or an economize presentation of truth? Beware! Remember the lying spirit that possessed the prophets of old?
