*DAILY DEW 16/JANUARY/2023* *HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF CHURCH* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.* (1 Timothy 4:15-16 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ A couple more steps to take as you prepare yourself to get the best out of church. *_3. Put your heart to it:_* Different people consciously or unconsciously choose aspects of the service that they are most interested in. Some select the Praise and Worship session and some choose The Word /Teaching sessions. Every aspect of a Worship Service is important. Be connected, be present, be in the room, avoid walking the streets of social media and taking pictures when you come to meet with God. Doing these things while service is on is a show of immaturity and indiscipline. It is really wrong. *_4. Be prepared to give:_* *Giving in church is not limited to your offering alone. Give respect, courtesy, cordiality, and kindness. Speak words seasoned with salt and grace.* The people serving you in church are not beneath you. Don't fight in church. Wear decent cloths always, especially to church. Be tolerant. Give of your substance to honor God (This is more to your advantage). The seed of God’s Word is incorruptible, the problem is the tilling of the soil (your heart). All of us are here to entertain Him (Jesus). When we come to church, there is an unwritten agreement that you have come to give a sacrifice of praise to God. *DAILY DEW 15/JANUARY/2023* *HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF CHURCH* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *Be persistent in prayer, and keep alert as you pray, giving thanks to God. At the same time pray also for us, so that God will give us a good opportunity to preach his message about the secret of Christ. For that is why I am now in prison. Pray, then, that I may speak, as I should, in such a way as to make it clear.* (Colossians 4:2-4 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ A lot of events are being hosted by churches at this period being the start of the year. You must know that you can be a member of your local church and yet never get the best out of the church. This is also why not our believers are growing as they ought to be. There are things you MUST do if you must get the best out of your church. And it begins with how you approach and treat every single event, program or activities of the church. Here are a few things you MUST do to make the best out of church this season... _*1. You need to have a Godly Agenda / Motive:*_ What's your motive for coming to church? Your motive becomes your motivation. When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. You need to get your motive right and stay focused. Jesus chased Merchants out of the temple because they were abusing the purpose of the temple. Many people have turned church into a ‘hookup’ centers. You can’t get the best from church if you abuse its purpose. _*2. Prepare and ‘Pre-Pray’ Before Coming to Church:*_ *Preparation gets you in the zone. You get divine whispers when you are in the zone. Divine whispers are not really what the pastor is saying, but a personalized version of it.* The Word of God gets broken down into small applicable steps for your life, and you become certain of what God is asking you to do. To prepare for a believer is to Pre-Pray! This puts you in a posture to receive from God. _MEDITATION:_ *"Don't come to church or attend church meetings, programs or activities casually. *DAILY DEW 14/JANUARY/2023* *HOW TO BECOME AN ASSET TO YOUR LOCAL ASSEMBLY* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *So I make a request to you on behalf of Onesimus, who is my own son in Christ; for while in prison I have become his spiritual father. At one time he was of no use to you, but now he is useful both to you and to me. I am sending him back to you now, and with him goes my heart. So, if you think of me as your partner, welcome him back just as you would welcome me.* (Philemon 1:10-12,17 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ _Be Sensitive To Those Who Redirect You Towards Your Local Assembly; Distance Yourself From Those Who Try To Buy You Over By All Means_ You don't tear one down to build another. The turf and territorial boundaries in ministries are fueled by very dishonest church-planting tactics that lack soul winning at their core. Those called to minister to the body and busy running roughshod with those called to minister to local church assemblies. Holding believer's meetings and teaching meetings to strengthen and confirm local churches is always a precursor to revival. We will have a great revival instead of turf wars. Your friend's associate minister shouldn't be welcomed because he fell out with your friend to become your associate. You should mediate peace and reconciliation and not absorb him or her. Stop trying to woo the music team of another church with things to make them leave and join you. Hope you haven't forgotten we will be judged the harshest! God did not call you into ministry to practice wickedness against any part of his Body. We are over 200 million as a nation, and less than half of this is saved. We need more churches for soul-winning and discipline, not soul-swapping. The scripture says your neighbor's stray animal should be your responsibility to lead back to its owner. There are many stray sheep that need help to go back to their spiritual family. I have asked people to go back and repair their relationship with the Pastor and church and facilitated the same because I saw satan leading a sheep astray. When sons/daughters, associates, and leaders of friends in ministry confide in you of difficulties with their oversight that borders on issues that shouldn't warrant their leaving, mediate and help them back home! Some of you reading here know how I help steadied you to stay with your local church when things went awry and difficult. How I would call and assuage your anger, hurt, and pushed you to talk things over, instead of just walking away! Now I see the relationship healed, my job is done, and my friends are in the dark about how I fought for them. I have met some great souls and huge spiritual assets, and my first question is what are you doing in my church when you should be in your church laboring with your father that has raised you this well? And they break down, tell you their story, and it is something to be ignored! _MEDITATION:_ *"When issues are grave, I insist they leave peacefully and talk with the Pastor one-on-one. I will always ask where, why, and how you left your former church as a believer. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.* (Acts 18:24-26 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ _Become A Resource Person For The Growth of Your Local Assembly_ The local church I attended never could supply all I needed. I attended every Thursday a Bible Teaching Centre led by Venture Omor, a fantastic teacher. I attended every weekend Night vigil in a Grace of God Church to develop praying and remained in my local church. I learned faith, praying, and the supernatural from outside my local church, but my local church was where I got saved and stayed until I went to a higher institution. Ministries and ministers like me are here to supplement the ministries available to you in the local church. Stop running around in circles with everyone that fascinates you. You can learn from a thousand instructors, and be useful in your local assembly. God will not uproot you to follow anyone because of miracles, or any expression of ministry. 99% of people run after what God ordained for them to learn and implement in their local assembly. Those of you following me here, the day I announce I am coming to your city to plant a local church, you are not who, why, or what I am coming for, God wants me to inject new energy reaping the harvest of lost souls in your city! Everything I do here is to exhort you, so you can be more useful and fruitful in your local church. Stop jumping ship to follow people like me that inspire and exhort you. Learn, but keep faith in your local church. Stop joining every, "workforce" request for church plants by people you met and follow online. They are going to end up in hell, because their god is their bodily desires. They are proud of what they should be ashamed of, and they think only of things that belong to this world.* (Philipians 3:18,19 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ _Getting It Right From The Beginning_ You don't start a new church plant with 3 days seminar and gospel concerts headlined by the best of gospel artists for the next 16 Sunday's back to back! 6 months ~ 12 months minimum of daily intercessions and soul winning will give you the stock of souls you need to start. We cannot be abetting church swapping and call it church planting. We cannot in all good conscience say we aren't reinforcing a very bad culture of church floaters. When God gives you a platform to minister to the body of Christ, we must keep our motives pure. You have been appointed to supply what's lacking in local church ministry, and not to destabilize local churches. There used to be Apostolic teaching centers that strengthened the local churches in the spheres of assignment. They taught the saints and sent them to their churches as firebrand assets. When. I got saved, and I had a very huge appetite for fellowship, praying, and teaching, sadly today we make converts who don't like attending church meetings, which makes me wonder what kinda gospel they heard, and what kind of salvation they are laying claim to! _MEDITATION:_ *"Your salvation experience is so vital that it can become a platform for greater heights in God, or a bane to real growth in Christ, except the Lord intervenes"* -- David J.
