*DAILY DEW 10TH/SEPTEMBER/2021* *THE BETTER COVENANT* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.* (Revelation 21:3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ *2. "I will be their God, and they will be my people."* That God is your God is a big deal. That you are God's person, is the main goal. Being a people of God is one of the salient features of the New Covenant. It comes next to having God's laws in our inward parts. Indeed a change of nature that conforms us to God's nature as revealed in Christ, can only result in our becoming God's people and God becoming our God. It is a two way relationship. God is ours. We are God's. Hallelujah! To be God's means to live for His pleasure. To be God's is to exist at His commands and purpose. When we are God's people, we don't live by our own will but we pursue God's will. On the other hand, when God is our God, we are God's highest priority. God lives for our well being and progress. God is committed to make our battles His. God is committed to be involved in all that concerns us as our God because we are His people. The challenge is, we don't usually know how to be God's people. God is ours. And he does his part well. But we being God's people,is where we fail. We are called His people, but sometimes behave otherwise. This should not be so. *MEDITATION* *Becoming God's own/person/people and God being our God, is an exclusive preserve of the New Covenant. If we are not under the new covenant, we are not God's and God is not ours in this special sense. *DAILY DEW 3RD/SEPTEMBER/2021* *MELCHIZEDEK* (V) _Key Bible Text:_ *NOW THE main point of what we have to say is this: We have such a High Priest, One Who is seated at the right hand of the majestic [God] in heaven, [Ps. 110:1.] As officiating Priest, a Minister in the holy places and in the true tabernacle which is erected not by man but by the Lord.* (Hebrews 8:1-2 (Amplified)) _Bible Insight:_ What's the main point of studying Melchizedek? The main point is seen in out text today as well as in Hebrews 7:25 (Meditation). Jesus lives on to intercede for us and to save us completely! Hallelujah! What does this really mean? The salvation we received is actually in phases. The first phase is when you received Jesus into your life. (John 1:12) The second phase is everyday as you decide to continue in Christ.(James 1:21, Rom 11:22, 1 Tim 4:16) The last phase is finally when we shall be received up in glory (doing away with flesh) and given a crown of life. (1 Cor 15:52, 53, ROM 8:20-25) Understanding the dynamics of our salvation, will help us realize the utmost need for our High Priest such as Jesus. He lives forever to intercede for us. He lives to ensure that we will not stop at the first phase of our salvation, nor at the second.bHe lives to carry us through and help us maintain our faith till the very end. Thank God we are not following a dead hero. Jesus is our living hero. Indeed, we are truly SAVED by the LIFE of Christ. *Romans 5:10 (KJV) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be SAVED BY HIS LIFE.* #Selah Jesus, risen up from the dead, sits at the right hand of the Father. He contradicts the accuser of the brethren, who is ever pointing accusing fingers at us. Jesus sits in the court of heaven as our living, loving and capable advocate. Bringing his strong reasons of his death and blood as evidence that sin has no hold on us. *DAILY DEW 27TH/AUGUST/2021* *ARE YOU WORKING?* _Key Bible Text:_ *I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.* (John 9: 4(KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Are you working? A lot of people do not like to be asked this direct question. It sounds to so many like they don't really know what they are doing. It is so direct that it may make some people to react in a way that is not pleasing depending on the situation. It also creates so many questions to human minds. It makes some feel guilty and think they are not faithful enough. A lot of times this question comes from a person to the receiver because the person have not seen a positive result of what is expected of the receiver. This can make a natural person to be down and not be able to move forward, or continue with what he or she embarked on. But for a visionary person, a goal setter and a Child of the Most High indeed, this direct question should call you for self examination of things you have been occupying your mind with and the way it has been affecting your life positively or negatively. You have to find the way out to do things that won't make the question come up again in a wrong approach. You won't be questioned when the work you do is giving the answer even to those that have not met you face to face. In our Bible text, Jesus knows the work He is sent to do and He can't wait to finish it before the night, when no man can work comes. Can you also boldly say you know the work you are sent out to do by your maker (God) and be sincere that you are doing it? Do you really know the work you are doing, have you been sent at all? If you have been sent and you know it, congratulations in advance, because every work has a reward. You are going to give account of all your work and through that you will receive your reward. *Jeremiah.17.10 But I know! I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve." (NLT)* If you have not known the work you are called to do, go back to the one who sent you to this world and ask Him (God) to enlighten you and to help you know what you are called to do. Do you know that a particular work had been assigned for you to do for the kingdom purpose? Have you found it? Are you doing it? Get back to work while it is day before it is night when no man can work! *DAILY DEW 20TH/AUGUST/2021* *THE GREAT COMMANDMENT* _Key Bible Text:_ *The proof that we love God comes when we keep his commandments and they are not at all troublesome.* (1John.5.3 (MSB)) _Bible Insight:_ From generation to generation we have always been hearing about commandments, rules and regulations. What is it all about? Who brought it? Is it useful in this our era? The children of Israel got the commandments which were known as the ten commandments but they failed to follow it strictly. What makes men to do what's wrong when the right thing has been laid down? Is there anything called great commandment that will supersede all the commandments and as well make the rest of the commandments to be fulfilled without difficulties? These are questions that come to the mind of men that has not gotten the great commandment or have not understood how it will works. If only we get this great commandment all other rules or regulations to fulfill purpose and destiny will be so easy to follow, but majority have gone astray looking for a short cut to please God. Without first obeying the commandments of God it will be impossible to please God and even to fulfill God's call for one's life. *What is the Great Commandment?* Matthew 22:37, 38 & 39 makes it clear to us; it says *(Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (KJV)* It is only when we have this that we can fullfil purpose and be at peace with all men -- Matthew 22:40 says *"On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (KJV))."* You don't have any excuse if you fail to love because the God we serve is a loving God and He himself is Love. *1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (KJV)* *MEDITATION* *Love is the greatest of all the commandment. *DAILY DEW 13TH/AUGUST /2021* *THE HOPE SET BEFORE US* _Key Bible Text:_ *That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;* (Hebrews 6:18-19 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ It is impossible for God to lie. We can be rest assured about that. We have two immutable things as a guarantee. The one is God's counsel. The other is, God's oath. (Heb 6:17). The writer of Hebrews then declares, almost like a digression- that *"we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:"* These are strong words. The certainty of God's word is to make us take refuge in the consolation of the hope set before us. These are captured in the most descriptive terms. We don't just take refuge in this hope, we do so with dispatch- "fled for refuge"... What hope? Hope that is an anchor to the soul! Hope that is both sure and steadfast. Remember, we are saved by hope. (Rom 8:24) This hope is one that is an anchor to the soul. Meaning, it saves or stabilizes our soul. We can be so convinced about this hope, because we have God's two immutable things-- His Counsel and His Oath.
