*DAILY DEW 7TH/DECEMBER/2021* *The Big Day Approaching* _Key Bible Text:_ *Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.* (Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The believer's life must be measured by two indices like the two sides of a coin- inward and outward dimensions. The inward dimension is best known to God and yourself however the outward dimension is to be appreciated by those around you. We can as well say that the outward dimension of the believer's life is for public consumption. One of the things that scriptures teaches is that you as a believer must never assume that you don't need others in your growth and walk with God. As a matter of fact everything you are in the inward dimension means nothing if there is no correct outward dimension. The only exception to this rule is that God makes a big deal of our inward dimensions as much as he does of our outward dimensions. Most times people want to care less about their outward dimensions, claiming that only the inward dimensions matters. However, God who alone accesses and assesses the inward dimensions, calls us to ensure correct outward dimensions. One of these correct approach to outward dimensions, is to never neglect the place of corporate worship, corporate edification, corporate service and corporate growth. You are to be a part of the physical gathering of the brethren. Despite the "issues" that sometimes befalls the church system, there is no known scriptural basis and justification for any true follower of Jesus to be exempted from corporate worship. *DAILY DEW 30TH/NOVEMBER/2021* *A DIFFERENCE LIKE A WIDE OCEAN* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world* (Philippians 2:15 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ The Holy Ghost. Even they with whom you roll, will quickly realise that something is off about you. You are there, and may look like them, but still you cannot hide. Jesus cannot really be hidden. For no one lights a candle and puts it under a bushel. And that is salvation, the eternal lighting of your inner lamp. Christ in you is an illuminated destiny, a lighthouse of the most high and the heavenly, a beacon in the darkness which cannot be obscured, and so therefore, neither can you. Your essence has been forever changed. You are now a stranger in this world. If this is not your experience; if you feel at home where you once belonged before you met Jesus, so that church things are an addition, just a new activity so that you rock the club on Friday night and rock the service on Sunday morning. Then your rocking of this age is simply evidence that you are not standing on the Rock of Ages *That will be a plastic cross dripping with zobo. And a 'tokunbo' salvation. *DAILY DEW 23RD/NOVEMBER/2021* *FAITH FOR ALL SEASONS* _Key Bible Text:_ *I know what it is to be in need and what it is to have more than enough. I have learned this secret, so that anywhere, at any time, I am content, whether I am full or hungry, whether I have too much or too little.* (Philippians 4:12 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ What if Joseph did not save 20% of the supply of food of Egypt in those seven years of plenty? The whole world, not just Egypt, would have perished. When Joseph interpreted that dream to pharaoh, pharaoh’s cabinet members and palace staff were all there. They heard the meaning of the dream and the suggestion Joseph gave on how to prepare for the 7 years of famine. Yet, none of them applied that suggestion to their lives. They all ate like hoodlums during the seven years of plenty until famine landed. Life is in seasons. When your season of plenty comes, as much as you would want it to always be there, experience teaches us that it is not always there. What you do with the plenty in the season of plenty will determine your quality of life when the next season comes. Don’t spend all your income. Don’t suddenly change your wardrobe and car and apartment just because you got a bump in your salary or landed one contract. This is a simple truth that many find hard to live by. Save 20% of your income at the least. Problems no dey finish. Good things no dey finish too. Don’t live above your means. Don’t live to make a statement to those you believe thought you wouldn’t make it. Don’t make God seem unfaithful to you. *DAILY DEW 16TH/NOVEMBER/2021* *THE POWER OF THE RENEWED MIND* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.* (Galatians 5:22-23 (CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ You will not be disqualified from being in God's eternal kingdom, as long as you have been infused with the new nature of Christ. Everyone born of the Spirit and the word, will not be disqualified as long as they do not neglect the practice of mind renewal. How can you practice mind renewal? Again, remember that It is not enough to answer altar call, you must be transformed. It is not enough to answer or attend full membership class or believers class or workers class, or even serve in a unit, or be a pastor, but you must also be transformed. And for you to be transformed, you must daily practice mind renewal. How do you practice mind renewal? Before you give yourself a pat in the back, thinking you are not the type that needs mind renewal, please pay attention. Do you know that, for instance habouring hatred or jealousy or envy etc are all evidence of the need of mind renewal? Mind renewal is not for only those you think commit some very known sins. Mind renewal is for all believers. Mind renewal is the way to effectively put off the old man and put on the new nature. One of the ways to carry out mind renewal is by feeding on the word. This means making time to daily read, listen to, or discuss the word. This is done both by personal reading/study and by group or corporate reading and discussion of the word. Another way to renew your mind, is by meditating on the word. To meditate is to brood or reflect upon. Brood over the word like a mother hen broods over her eggs until they become chicks. Let the word become alive you, let it be made flesh in you. *DAILY DEW 2ND/NOVEMBER/2021* *SUBMIT TO GOD* _Key Bible Text:_ *Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.* (James 4:7 (NKJV)) _Bible Insight:_ There is a certain attitude that does not submit to God. And James strongly rebukes this attitude in the passage. James is addressing the attitude that is boastful and arrogant. He calls this evil. Even though in our culture we don’t like people who boast, all of us boast in our hearts. Boasting reveals what our heart finds confidence and security in. It shows what’s important to us, what we value and what we live for. On the surface it looks like good planning, hard work and being diligent. But deep down in our hearts, it is an attitude that is wise in its own eyes, foolish, arrogant and proud. This attitude does not recognize that God is sovereign and in control, but instead relies on self-confidence and self-reliance. It is foolish behavior. And this foolishness results in selfish behavior. James warns us that though we might think we are in control of our lives, the reality is that life is fragile. We are like a mist that appears and disappears. Our life is fleeting. We will be soon forgotten. Nothing we do or keep is forever. It will waste away and rot. A life that submits to God recognizes this feeble and fleeting nature of life.
