*DAILY DEW 7TH/MARCH/2022* *Faith Series: The Courage of Gideon* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation."* (Psalms 85:6-7 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In order to appreciate the courage which Gideon displayed in trusting God it is necessary to read the whole of Judges chapters 6, 7 and 8:24-27. Notice the following:- 1. It takes a courageous faith to hear and obey the call of God. Think about this for a moment. Here was a timid, unknown young man threshing wheat, and suddenly the Lord called him to a very great service (Judges 6:11-12). Gideon felt utterly unfitted, unready and unworthy for such a task (see verse 15), and he told the Lord so; but the Lord only confirmed his call (see verse 16). From this moment on this timid young man had the courage and the faith to take God at His word and to go forth in His might (Verse 14). There have been many more recent examples of this very thing. Carey was engaged in mending shoes when God laid the burden of the unevangelised in India upon his heart and called him to take the gospel to them; Moody was a salesman in a shoe store when God called him to a world-shaking task of evangelism; and Livingstone was only a mill worker in the little village of Blantyre in Scotland, when God called him to open up a highway for the gospel in Africa. To answer God’s call demands a courageous faith. Is He calling you to some special task? _MEDITATION:_ *"And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. *DAILY DEW 5TH/MARCH/2022* *NOT THE SAME GOD* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."* (John 14:6-7 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Christian 1: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the Life. Christian 2: Muslims and Christians are serving God Christian 1: But Muslims don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Do they? Christian 2: No they don't, but they believe He is a great prophet. Christian 1: 1 John 2:22-23; "Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also." Christian 2: Are you now saying Islam is antichrist? Christian 1: Well, according to their beliefs, Jesus is not the Son of God. He didn't die for our sins. That's what John calls the spirit of the antichrist. Christian 2: I don't like criticising religions o Christian 1: I see. What about Ogun Worshippers? Christian 2: Those ones are different na. Christian 1: Is that not a religion too? If you agree with Islam, you must accommodate sango, ogun, Buddhism, and every religion in the world. But if you really believe the bible, then you must preach Jesus to all as the way, the truth, and the Life. Christian 2: But my Pastor says we all are serving the same God in different ways. *DAILY DEW 4TH/MARCH/2022* *MARCHING TOWARDS MATURITY* (IV) _Key Bible Text:_ *"The people in Berea were much nicer than those in Thessalonica, and they gladly accepted the message. Day after day they studied the Scriptures to see if these things were true."* (Acts 17:11 (CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ Question: I desire to preach the gospel and win souls for Christ but most times I don't know what to say. How do I go about it? Answer: You need bible study! Not knowing what to say is a sign that you just might not understand the gospel yourself. Passion to preach must lead to passion to study and search the scriptures for your own growth and stability. Many times, people reach out for help concerning spiritual growth. You send them a full bible course that has changed the lives of many, but they don't even have the discipline to go through it, only for them to still be looking for answers years after. Some of the people whose lives have been transformed radically are people who listen over and again to the same messages lying idle on other people's devices. Laziness will cost you big. Deal with it! The wisdom of God in the gospel is that He doesn't fix addictions by talking about the addictions. He doesn't fix marriage issues, where character is concerned, by talking about them. He doesn't fix bad temper by talking about it. He fixes all by revealing Christ to the heart of a man. When Christ fills the consciousness of a man, every other thing bows out. We are not propagators of human psychology, we preach Christ the power of God forever! You don't get it? If you learn of Christ, it makes you walk like Him, and if you walk like Him, the flesh cannot control you! _MEDITATION:_ *"The gifts of the Spirit don't change or develop godly habits and the fruit of the Spirit doesn't heal the sick or provide supernatural guidance. Hence, we have to walk in the fruit, the gifts, and the leading of the Spirit to have an all round new life experience! *DAILY DEW 3RD/MARCH/2022* *MARCHING TOWARDS MATURITY* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"What I say is this: let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature. For what our human nature wants is opposed to what the Spirit wants, and what the Spirit wants is opposed to what our human nature wants. These two are enemies, and this means that you cannot do what you want to do."* (Galatians 5:16-17 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ What does it cost to have a crowd of people who are not ready to serve Jesus? Make ministry look very convenient! Convenient discipleship is a scam! Jesus says we must count the cost and deny ourselves in order to follow Him - speaking of service. Salvation is a free gift but discipleship and serving Jesus requires that we deny ourselves daily. *Hence, Jesus says we ought to count the cost. It is not convenient to study, pray, and go after souls!* The moment you remove the word 'labour' from your service to Christ, what you have left is zero service. Ministry is labour! Jesus chased people out of the temple because they were buying and selling, not because buying and selling was bad in itself. It was about where they were doing it. The temple was not built for buying and selling. Jesus' act was about restoring order and purpose! *There are good activities not suitable for church gatherings.* We have a pattern of what is to be found in our gathering in the scriptures - God's word, prayers, and breaking of bread. Not comedy, entertainment, and fun fair activities! It's sad to watch the body of Christ increasingly adopting fleshly methods to win the world. The Wisdom of God to save is His Gospel! Don't have a message and then be looking for bible verses that sound like it. That's how heresies are developed. The scriptures have a message that must be discovered through study. We don't approach to find verses for what's already in our minds. We approach to learn what God is saying in His word! So that we can fill our minds with what God is already saying in His word instead! _MEDITATION:_ *"It is hard to develop a consistent bible study and prayer culture as you submit to a sound local church. But it is harder to live without the influence of the word and prayers. *DAILY DEW 2ND/MARCH/2022* *MARCHING TOWARDS MATURITY* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love--like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do."* (Ephesians 4:15 (Message)) _Bible Insight:_ In every field, only TRAINED MEN are appointed to TRAIN OTHERS. It is not different for the church! Do you understand the scriptures? Can you pray? Can you evangelize? Do you operate in the gifts of the Spirit? Do you consistently walk in the fruit of the Spirit? If not, reject that Pastoral form they've been hanging on your neck. Don't experiment with people's lives! A novice cannot produce skilled men! If you're a Pastor or church elder or church worker or fellowship executive and you're struggling with prayer and the study of the word, GET HELP ON TIME! You cannot give what you don't have! You will be busy thinking of how to make church lively because you're also lazy in spiritual things. GET HELP ON TIME! A Pastor, church worker, church elder or fellowship executive is a trainer. You have to stretch people beyond their comfort zones. See how Jesus trained His disciples? There's no growth without stretching people beyond the limits they've set for themselves. E.g. 'I can't pray beyond 20mins'. When you meet a Pastor who's worth his salt, he'll make you pray 1hr, 2hrs or more and you'll become better with time. I've seen people who were very lazy in prayers become addicted to it with the right training! Pampering is not one of the tools for discipleship - it has never worked! _MEDITATION:_ *"The local church is not a hiding place for unserious believers. We welcome all with the goal of transforming all. Those who are not ready for this transformation cannot stand the heat of discipleship.
