*DAILY DEW 19/FEBRUARY/2023* *THE STUFF OF A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. AND THEY WERE BOTH NAKED, THE MAN AND HIS WIFE, AND WERE NOT ASHAMED."* (Genesis 2:24-25 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ 2. Openness and oneness. Make openness easy. Be transparent. Don't wait to be asked, "what is that?" Or "who was that?" Even when the question comes, don't be like "why are you asking?" Drop such attitude. Instead, expect those questions that help you open up and never treat such questions with an unwelcoming attitude or approach. Take every opportunity to build openness and oneness. Give your spouse room to know all there is to know about you and don't create unnecessary thoughts of "who knows what he is going about now" or "who knows what she is going about now". Build oneness consciously. Arguments of having or not having one's password and access to each other's phones should not even be a matter. Issues of not knowing what each other is earning should not be a challenge at all. The temptation is to try to keep somethings back. Fight off that temptation and live an open policy. PS: This helps a lot in the unexpected event that one goes to be with God before the other. The openness comes in like a big relief because the surviving partner will not be struggling too hard to fish out all the properties or belonging of the late spouse. 3. Patience. Patience is and will forever be key to any marriage. Patience between and towards the spouses. Patience towards challenges and trying times. Patience towards learning or unlearning what needs to be learned. Patience towards what you don't like about each other. Patience towards growing in the things of God. *DAILY DEW 18/FEBRUARY/2023* *THE STUFF OF A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace."* (James 3:17-18 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ In the spirit of appreciation to God for my six years of marriage, I write. I do not write as an expert or one who already attained. I am a learner who still look up to those who are more successful and have gone ahead of me. I am only sharing because I believe the little I have learned may bless someone and also, there is a way sharing, helps you know better what you think you already know. So I present some of my lessons and observations, from my few years of marriage. 1. Peace & connectedness. Create a culture of peace and connectedness. Conflicts will come unexpectedly and expectedly but nurturing and preferring a culture of peace and an atmosphere of connectedness will always prevail over every conflict. Maintaining peace and connectedness means quitting the "cold war" mode as soon as possible. Quit the unforgiveness and offence mode as quick as possible. Verbalize and normalize forgiveness and oneness. In fact, cultivate the habit of forgiving ahead. It is so unfortunate that many so called church and even spiritual brothers and sisters have not learned the art of forgiveness. Don't let issues separate you, rather, see all issues as "The Couple vs the Issue". The temptation is always to either see "the Issue with the wife versus the Husband" or "the issue with the husband versus the wife". Doing that is allowing the issue or pain or disagreement point, divide you. At all times, remain a team. It is "We" versus the issue we are trying to resolve. This stance, or position, when learned or adopted, helps you value peace and connectedness more than who is right or who is wrong. _MEDITATION:_ *"But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). *DAILY DEW 17/FEBRUARY/2023* *THE STUFF OF REVIVAL* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain."* (1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ I strongly believe that REVIVAL is more than just having extended meetings where people get drunk in the spirit, laugh, fall down, and the same people get saved again the 10th time weeks after the meeting. We need both CORPORATE and PERSONAL holiness and sanctification in this generation so badly right now if we will be able to house what's coming - I see the WIND OF REVIVAL preparing to blow in the coming days, not too long from now. I see men rising from their sick beds by the instrumentality of the Word spoken to them by ORDINARY MEN who don't need cassocks and staffs to do the miraculous - men that have been equipped for EFFECTIVE MINISTRY by the fivefold equippers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ God is set to send REVIVAL to individuals, Churches and territories but if we have a crack in our CHARACTER, what was meant to be a blessing will be a curse. Reading through a book series such as GOD'S GENERALS, I feel sick every time hearing about revivals that happen yet these revivals come in hand with them issues of moral failures and it breaks my heart that we keep on rolling around the same spot and we don't dare to kick out of the lives of men CHARACTER DEFORMATION that causes break down in what the LORD is willing to do through them. Revival should bond families and not break them apart. Revival should form character and not make it worse. Revival is a season when men learn HOW TO HOST GOD THROUGH A LIFESTYLE OF HEAVEN. _MEDITATION:_ *"During a REVIVAL, men are filled with the fruit of the Spirit and they bear the image of God with radiance and splendor. *DAILY DEW 16/FEBRUARY/2023* *THE STUFF OF SALVATION* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain."* (1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ When we make altar calls to people, we must lead them aside to share the gospel with them, lest they believe in vain. I've heard people tell me they got saved at a meeting where there was no preaching on salvation but the preacher only invited people who were ready to turn a new leaf, and then people respond emotionally, in an atmosphere charged up by music and prayer, and that was it. Frankly, such folks aren't saved! If salvation is a mere turning of a new leaf, Christ wouldn't have come to die for sins! The sinner must hear the facts of the gospel in clear and definite terms. He must see Jesus as the propitiation for his sins. His faith must rest solely and fully on the work of the cross. Otherwise, we stand the risk of birthing false converts. There's no other means for leading men to Christ apart from explaining the work of Christ to them. We must never forget this! Preaching on how to position yourself in the labour market and then inviting people to receive Christ afterwards is not salvation. (Unless of course one has already been exposed to the Gospel but only at that moment felt convicted enough to receive Christ as Lord and Savior) Preaching on the effects of sin and how people should stop sinning and then inviting people to receive Christ, is also not salvation. Salvation isn't what people receive by reciting 'the sinners prayer', after we have preached about other things. _MEDITATION:_ *Salvation is itself the message they must hear. It explains the problem of sin and points to Jesus as the Lamb that has taken away the sin of the world (John 1:29). It assures and persuades the sinner of forgiveness and the gift of the Spirit through Christ, the Son of God. Faith must come from the message! (Romans 10:17). *DAILY DEW 15/FEBRUARY/2023* *The Demands of The Word* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward."* (Psalms 19:10-11 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ 4. Obedience. You can't obey the Word unless you give attention, repent, where need be, and believe the Word. It is the word that you know that you will apply. Obedience to God's word is the Goal. Joshua 1:8 (KJV) This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; .... *"that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein"* 5. Labour. The Word demands that you labour over the word. You L labour by making time to study the word by personal devotion. You labor by attending Sunday school, Word Alive (Bible Study), Sunday Service, Conventions, Conferences, Retreats etc. You labour by reading books, christian literatures. You labour by listening to downloaded and recorded messages. Download and listen to recorded message over and over again. That's labour in the word. You labour by complying to God's righteous demands. You labour by abiding. *John 6:27 (KJV) Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.* 6. Teach. The word demands that you teach others after you have learned the Word, and kept (complied with) the Word. *Ezra 7:10 (KJV) For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.* Beloveth, the Word has demands for you and I, just as a parent has demands of their children. You are a product of the Word if you are born again. You are actually born of God's word, therefore you must pay heed to God's demands through HIs word.
