*DAILY DEW 23/APRIL/2023* *Receiving the Teachings of Your Pastor (IX)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them"* (2 Timothy 3:14) _Bible Insight:_ Everyone cannot be your teacher. If you give your ears to all the voices out there you'll not grow and you'll be a confused person. The person(s) God is using to teach you must be valued and honored to maximize what you're learning. Stick to the person(s) the Lord sent to you and be committed to receiving all God has for you through him(them). A medical student that's alway loitering in engineering, law and statistics department will not know much about medicine and will likely not graduate. Stay where God sent you and feed well there. Give yourself wholly to the things you're learning. Seek to apply and walk in the light of all you're receiving from your Pastor(s). The purpose of learning is that you'll come to a place of conviction and assurance of the truth. This will take some effort on your part. It's not enough to just hear, you have to give yourself to its application and continue receiving and learning. John 10:27 [27]My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Camp around the voice of your Pastor(s) and allow yourself to be led of God through his(their) teachings and instructions. This will also mean living a life pleasing to God. It means the pursuit of Christ likeness. Thus, we must add this to our faith. Faith without accompanying and corresponding works, is not only dead but critically hypocritical. "As a child of God, your body is no more first about personal tastes. Your body is now the temple of God. It belongs to Him. The most important consideration is God's tastes." *DAILY DEW 21/APRIL/2023* *ADD TO YOUR FAITH!* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.* (2 Peter 1:8 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ *"But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot seeseesar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall"* -- 2 Peter 1:9-10 (KJV) For if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: this means that when you don't do these things, you will fall. Do you want to fall? I am sure you don't. So add to your faith! One of the things to add, by way of further breaking down, what 2 Peter 1:5-11, is a potent prayer life. "If I don't pray, Satan will make mess of me" is simply another way of saying "Watch, and pray lest you fall (yakata) into temptation." (Mark 14:38). Falling into temptation is messy. It's the devil's mess. In Christ, you should overcome. Pray!" "Dear Christian, you lost your appetite and you don't know why? That's not anorexia! It's a call to FAST.
