*MOTIVATION GONE WRONG*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts."*
(Proverbs 31:6 (NKJV))
_Bible Insight:_
When the monkeys and baboons heard that the man who used to chase them away from the maize field had died, they rejoiced and made merry after which they invaded the farmland with reckless abandon.
Then came the following year they had no maize to eat, it then dawned on them that the dead man was the farmer.
It is usually a challenging thing to learn in the hard way but human minds seem to be built that way.
Growing up we often felt like our guardians were being overly protective and unnecessarily policing, only to grow up and understand better- they were actually helping.
Experience is a divine gift designed to guide the wise but the foolish despise wise counsel.
We live in an age and time when everyone seem to rely on the internet for every puzzle in their lives and this has mass produced untameable mistakes that are detrimental to both social and psychological health of the young ones.
If you abandon the comforter and guardian of your soul which is the Holy Spirit, you may most likely waste your potential youth only to realise at old age that God's word remains the pilot's most trusted guide.
_MEDITATION:_
*And that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.*
(2 Timothy 3:15 )

*FINANCING MISSIONS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.*
(Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
HOW IS IT DONE?
Everywhere I go I am asked the question, “How do you get such offerings? Where does the money come from? You must have a church of millionaires.†That is what the editor of Canada’s Roman Catholic paper thought when he saw the report in the daily press.
He wrote and asked me if it were so, and when I replied in the negative, he was astonished. He wrote a long article in his Roman Catholic publication, stating that one Protestant church, led, as he said, by a zealous pastor, gave more to missions than all the Catholic churches from Ontario to the Coast put together. “We,†he said, “are the true custodians of the Faith, and yet we allow one Protestant church to outdo us. Shame on us.â€
His thought, of course, was to stir up the Catholics to do more. No, we have no millionaires. As a matter of fact, we do not have any real wealth in our church. Our gifts come from a multitude of ordinary people.
At one time an official of the Foreign Mission Board of a large denomination asked me for the secret, and wanted to know why the giving of his denomination had decreased. “Dr. So-and-So,†I said, “you have put missions in the budget and you appeal to the people for a dead, cold budget and then you divide the money as you see fit. It will never do. World-wide evangelism is too important to be put in a budget. You will have to pull it out of the budget and put it up on the platform where the people can see it. You will have to go back to the great missionary rallies of the days of the Student Volunteer Movement, when multitudes of young men and women where inspired to go. People will never give to a budget. They must have inspiration.†He admitted that I was right.

*DAILY DEW 13TH/DECEMBER/2021*
*WELCOME TO MISSIONS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.*
(John 3:16 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
DOWN through the years my life has been tremendously motivated by great missionary mottoes. May I give you one now that perhaps has meant more to me than any other.
It is this, *"The supreme task of the church is the evangelisation of the world"* I believe that with all my heart. The most important work of the Church of Jesus Christ is world evangelization.
WORLD
I am going to take three words in this motto and emphasize them one by one. First of all, let me take the "WOLRD" word. When God loved, He loved a world. When He gave His son, He gave His Son for a world. When Jesus Christ died, He died for a world. God's vision is a world vision. That is the vision He wants us to have.
So many of us are localized in our outlook. We see only our own community, our own village or town, and we never see beyond. There are those who think only of their own church and have no interest in what others are doing. Then there are those who have a larger vision. Then there are those who see an entire world. They see Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America and the Island of the seas. They have God's vision and that is the vision He wants us to have, a world vision.
_MEDITATION:_
*Why is it that so many of us are local in our outlook? Why do we think only of ourselves?*

*DAILY DEW 6TH/DECEMBER/2021*
*CHOOSE YOUR PAIN*
_Key Bible Text:_
*Keep your eyes on [Jesus], who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed--that exhilarating finish in and with God--he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he's [there], in the place of honor, right alongside God.*
(Hebrews 12:2 (AMP))
_Bible Insight:_
I must thank my Pastor, K. C. Onyegbuna whose words kept repeating in my heart as I thought about this topic-- choose your pain!
Face this fact of life, you can't run away from pain in life completely. The rich, the poor, the educated, the illiterate, the middle class, the classless class, etc are all subject to pass through pain at certain points in life. Life is never painless.
In fact, pains are the building blocks of life. Yes.
Job 14:1 (KJV) says, *"Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble."* Indeed, trouble and pain are the twins of life. As much as we dislike them, they hold the key to greatness in life. #Selah
In as much as pain is inseparable from life, we can choose which or what kind of pain we must endure. God has given us the power of choice. A man who does not face the pain of discipline, hard work and some measure of stress, will definitely face the pain of regret and poverty.
Hence we must choose to go through pain deliberately and voluntarily, so that we don't go through pain forcefully. Jesus did exactly that. He chose to suffer the cross, shame and pain because he was poised for the crown of glory ahead of him.
If Jesus did not escape pain, no one can. The best we can do like Jesus, is to choose what kind of pain we must endure.
_MEDITATION:_
*In order to have great happiness you have to have great pain and unhappiness - otherwise how would you know when you're happy?* -

*DAILY DEW 29TH/NOVEMBER/2021*
*A DIFFERENCE LIKE A WIDE OCEAN*
_Key Bible Text:_
*Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?*
(2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
No matter how funky you are, if Christ has truly begun to live in your heart; even with your jeans and neck chains, you can never be mistaken for the world. As you sit in the party and roll with the guys ...inside of you, you will feel the difference between yourself and clubbers and party goers...a difference like a wide ocean.
You will also feel the acute painful desire to share what you have become, to baptise them in that ocean. It is called compassion. You can wear all the shredded jeans and even put a stud on one ear, but you will know that you can never be like them anymore. You will feel that something stands between them and you. It's called the Cross.
The precious blood of Jesus.
You will feel like a stranger in those clothes, because your body is now a temple made for white robes. Something will always be bubbling on the inside that all the loud and tapping music and activity cannot match. Or Someone. Bubbling up to eternal life. Constraining love. Restraining grace. Imperturbable peace. Incontrovertible wisdom. Convicting righteousness.
