*DAILY DEW 28/JANUARY/2023* *LEONARD RAVENHILL* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God."* (Colossians 4:12 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ He (Leonard) was raised in a God-fearing home that believed in the power of prayer. His earliest recollection of school was that of being taught the Ten Commandments as a five-year-old as well as having to memorize and recite many of the Psalms. At the age of fourteen he was attending all-night prayer meetings—a passion he carried throughout his life. He recalled: ‘‘They prayed with tears, they prayed with brokenness. They prayed for a lost world, then they began to pray for nations I knew little about. They had signs of Niagara Falls, but instead of water falling over, it was people dropping down.’’ Leonard’s ministry started in England at the age of sixteen. His burden for the lost took him into the streets, where he began to preach to the local gypsy community— seventy-one years later he was on the streets of Glory. Leonard was a powerfully anointed preacher who could bring down the convicting presence of God in a way that very few can. People would begin making their way to the altar even before any type of invitation was given, their hearts pierced by the Word of God. His preaching was superceded only by his passion for prayer. *DAILY DEW 27/JANUARY/2023* *LEONARD RAVENHILL* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample."* (Philippians 3:17 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Some men's lives are worthy to be revisited and reviewed as a required practice expected of believers of this user-friendly generation! (A term we will explain perhaps another day). A man like LEONARD RAVENHILL is one of such men. Here is what he recalls about his own mother. Leonard's mum and a certain Granny, who lived next door to them, prayed together about the child (Leonard) that was to be born. An amazing thing happened two hours—not two months, not two weeks, not two days—after he was born, said the mother. She continued, *‘‘When the midwife went out, I (his mother) reached over the bed and laid my hands on you (Leonard) and just prayed, ‘Lord, make this boy a preacher or don’t let him live'."* Wow! Imagine a mother saying such a prayer over a child she had just gone through the nine months of sacrifices and pain to bear. Yet, she said such a prayer over the baby. No wonder today we have course to revisit Leonard's life. Settled! No common or ordinary children is born by normal parents. Moses was not of normal parents. Isaac was not of normal parents. John the baptist was not of normal parents. Jesus was not of normal parents. The list goes on. As a parent, your child will be a product of the quality and caliber of person you are and faith you have. All through history, extra ordinary people have been parented by abnormal parents-- and whether positively or negatively, this principle still applies. What kind of parents are you becoming? Your single-hood is the best time to decide the kind of parent you want to become and the kind of children you want to raise in a user-friendly generation! _MEDITATION:_ *LEONARD RAVENHILL was born in 1907 in the city of Leeds, in Yorkshire, England. After his conversion to Christ, he was trained for the ministry at Cliff College. It soon became evident that evangelism was his forte, and he engaged in it with both vigor and power. Eventually he became one of England’s foremost outdoor evangelists. His meetings in the war years drew traffic-jamming crowds in Britain, and great numbers of his converts not only followed the Savior into the kingdom but also into the Christian ministry and the world’s mission fields. He emigrated to the United States in midlife, where he continued his ministry. He and his wife, Martha, raised three sons. *DAILY DEW 26/JANUARY/2023* *BECOMING ETERNALLY CONSCIOUS* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."* (Psalms 90:12) _Bible Insight:_ That Anointing that can gather crowd but cannot depopulate hell is like a castrated giant; the big man is good for nothing. The financial outpourings that heaven brings your way that ends up in beer parlours and on lavish living is a complete waste of divine resources... The beautiful face and the handsome look that doesn't prioritise Christ and His kingdom on earth is a beautiful nonsense; there is no glory in that life... Pursuing earthly goals without pushing the Gospel is a waste of breathe... When the chips are down, we will all realize that many were chasing ephemerals instead of chasing the Eternal and for that reason many souls are lost. Beloved, It is time... It is Time to Consecrate our 3T's It is Time to Consecrate our Time to God, It is Time to Consecrate our Talents to God, It is Time to Consecrate our Treasures to God... *DAILY DEW 25/JANUARY/2023* *BECOMING YOUR FOCUS* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers."* (Acts 2:42 (The Message)) _Bible Insight:_ Praying, Bible reading, Bible studying, and other spiritual activities that builds or encourages these habits must be made a priority this year. What's missing in the lives of some believers isn't lack of knowledge of God's word or how to pray; what's missing is the DISCIPLINE to keep at it. Many prayer warriors will get to heaven to discover they had no prayer life because they neglected the word of God, which is the foundation for prayer. While it's true that many confuse participating in many activities with spiritual growth, it is equally true that spiritual growth is impossible without getting involved in the right activities - bible study, prayer, ministry. These activities, when properly engaged in, will transform the believer. _MEDITATION:_ *Taking delight in God must mean something beyond singing songs and dancing. Taking delight in God must also include enjoying everything that draws you closer to his presence, particularly spending time in the Word and Prayer. *DAILY DEW 24/JANUARY/2023* *BECOMING YOUR FOCUS* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so."* (2 Kings 2:10 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Every church attracts its kind and produces after its kind. If it's a church burning for Christ in zeal for the word, prayers and ministry, it will only produce more of such and attract the same. If it's a cold or lukewarm church, it will produce and attract the same. We all know what we want in ministry and this is why we do what we do. As for me, it's focus on eternal things till I see Jesus. I love it when people testify about growing spiritually and deepening their commitments to Christ like never before when our paths crossed. That's why we are in ministry forever. Amen I'm yet to see any believer grow beyond his associations! Any desire for transformation that doesn't include leaving wrong company and influences is wishful thinking. The conversations you hold daily have far more reaching effects than a sermon on Sunday. Thorns choke good seeds. The only reason God's word will affect you deeply is when your daily conversations remind you of the things you've heard. There's such a thing as godly company - find it! AND KEEP IT! FOCUS! _MEDITATION:_ *Keep your energy within your focus zone. Avoid dissipating energy on things, people, places and ideas that sap your energy without getting you closer to your focus.
