*DAILY DEW 28/APRIL/2023* *CALLED, PRESERVED & SANCTIFIED* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are SANCTIFIED by God the Father, and PRESERVED in Jesus Christ, and CALLED"* (Jude 1:1 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ JUDE was writing to everyone who believes and follows Christ, including you and I. It is important to think through the key words he used to refer to the Christian-- Called, Preserved, & Sanctified. Are you called? Yes, everyone who believes and follows Jesus must answer the call of God through Jesus Christ. It is a call to come out from darkness into light. 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) : *But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS MARVELLOUS LIGHT* In other words, it is a call to shun the works of darkness: 2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV): *Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? AND WHAT COMMUNION HATH LIGHT WITH DARKNESS?* Ephesians 5:11 (KJV) : *And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.* You have been called by Jesus. You and I used to be darkness, if you are truly saved. You must remember, that your calling is one that once you answer, you must move from darkness to light. Darkness is synonymous with secrecy. Whatever you would rather not let Jesus know you are involved in, whatever you wont like others to know you are doing, is a reminder of darkness. Shun it. Reprove it. Whenever any works of darkness calls, remind them, and yourself that light has already called your name and you answered. *DAILY DEW 27/APRIL/2023* *Servants of Jesus* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called"* (Jude 1:1 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Jude wrote calling himself a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James. Truth is, Jude like James, are half brothers of Jesus. *"Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?"* (Matthew 13:55 ASV) This Judas is same as Jude. It is important to note that Jude could have readily associated & introduced himself as Jesus' brother. It is not an easy feat to be from the same biological family and parent as Jesus. Is it? However, Jude was very sensitive and totally spiritually aligned. He rather placed himself as a servant of Jesus than lay claim to his relationship to Jesus biologically speaking. What does this teach us? *Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.* (2 Corinthians 5:16 ASV) It is not by associating with Jesus in the flesh that makes for salvation or spiritual growth. It is being obedient to the word of God, that makes the real difference. By identifying themselves as servants of Jesus, they show their determination and priority to obey Jesus. They show that they understood who Jesus truly was. In our relationship with Jesus, we can address ourselves as brothers or sisters of Jesus, but what is most important is our ability to obey His words. Obedience to Christ is the true definition of service to Christ. And when we truly obey Jesus (serve him) then are we his brothers and sisters indeed! _MEDITATION:_ *"While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? *DAILY DEW 26/APRIL/2023* *Making Disciples* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."* (2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Going is just one part of the Great Commission—making disciples is the crux of Jesus’ directive. In missions, we need to be constantly reevaluating our motives. Why? Because we are always capable of losing perspective. For instance: measureless good has been accomplished through Christians who gather in conferences, camps, and trips to embrace God’s mandate to “go” to the nations. The problem is, sometimes we think that the command is only to go. When we overemphasize the command to “go,” we risk sending laborers who venture across the world for the wrong reasons. They might be driven by wanderlust, longing to experience the world, or perhaps even guilt, thinking they can win back God’s favor by simply moving to a new country. _MEDITATION:_ *"Our Lord commanded us to “go,” but the heart of the matter is that Jesus didn’t stop there. He told us to go and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:19). *DAILY DEW 25/APRIL/2023* *SHUT IT DOWN* _Key Bible Text:_ *"My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path"* (Proverbs 1:10, 15 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ I listened to a podcast, and I've never seen a man so vulnerable. He got married in 2021 I think, in a very beautiful ceremony. The kind that makes you 'Aww'. He said they went out to eat and a lady walked up to them and said she was attracted to both of them. He found it strange, but his wife wasn't shocked. For context, they are both believers in Christ. Long and short, they started having th**esomes. His curiosity heightened. He started and became addicted to watching porn. 8months into their marriage his wife was frustrated because he wanted her to be a porn star. He wanted what he was watching. They are getting divorced now. He took responsibility because he should have shut it down when that lady met them at dinner. I found this interesting because this is how addiction and destructive habits start. The Bible says "Don't give the devil a foothold." When we start tap dancing around habits that would destroy us, by the time they manifest full blown, its difficult to stop. So, shut it down! It's easy to open the door to these habits, but very difficult to shut. We all have those dark habits you may want to explore more of. But ask God to help you shut that desire down, because it may be pleasurable today, but the consequences are dire. Their marriage lasted about 9months. She left. He's now in therapy... All because someone gave the devil a foothold... Shut it down. I honor you🙏🙏 _MEDITATION:_ *"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. *DAILY DEW 24/APRIL/2023* *Receiving the Teachings of Your Pastor (X)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."* (Matthew 28:20) _Bible Insight:_ Consider Jesus with His disciples: All their Christian education was from Jesus and they were to pass down the same without editing anything to the next generation. They were to observe and teach what their Pastor taught them, not what they heard on radio, watched on TV or read on Facebook. Consider Paul with Timothy: *"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."* (2 Timothy 2:2) All that Timothy had leant was from Paul and now he was to transmit exactly the same to others. Timothy was enjoined to remain within the boundaries of the curriculum he received from his Pastor and teach the same things to his disciples and followers. Consider Paul at the feet of Gamaliel: *"I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day."* (Acts 22:3) Paul was tutored by Gamaliel and not Gamaliels. This is not to say you can't learn anything from others. What I'm saying is your major source of learning and growing must be clear cut. _MEDITATION:_ *"If you hate your math teacher you'll fail mathematics.
