*DAILY DEW 22ND/FEBRUARY/2022* *Ways to Improve Your Communication* _Key Bible Text:_ *"You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience"* (1 Colosians 3:12 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ Today I write as someone in the trenches with you. How can we speak to each other in a more loving tone? What do you do when you know you need to ask for forgiveness, but you just don’t want to? Why can’t others see things the way I see them? We can learn a few lessons from Paul’s words in Colossians 3:12-13 1. Put on humility. It looks good on everyone. Some of us look good in certain outfits, but not so good in others. Some might like bright colors and others dark colors. But, one thing is for certain – we all look good when we wear humility. James 4:6b says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t want God to ‘resist me.’ 2. Try on some compassion, kindness, and gentleness. Too many times I did not love my wife and kids with a spirit of compassion, kindness, or gentleness. In fact, I lived as if I tore those garments off and instead put on harshness, anger, and a critical spirit. It’s the kindness of the Lord that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4). Be kind to one another. 3. Remember to be patient with everyone. Paul tells his readers to put on patience. Doesn’t he know I don’t have the time for that (pun intended)? In 1 Thessalonians 5:14, Paul writes, “And we exhort you, brothers and sisters: warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone.” Sometimes we warn, other times we comfort, and sometimes we help. But, we’re always to be patient, with everyone. _MEDITATION:_ *"Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. *DAILY DEW 15TH/FEBRUARY/2022* *The Bible: The Guide to Christ* _Key Bible Text:_ *"You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you'll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me (JESUS Christ)!."* (John 5:39 (The Message)) _Bible Insight:_ Desire: I want to read my bible. Plan: I'll read through the book of Acts today. Discipline: Picks up bible and flips to Acts. Gets tired at chapter 2. Gets up to stretch, sits back and continues to read. Feels sleepy at chapter 7, gets up again, sprinkles water on his face, sits back to continue to read. At chapter 14, sees something remarkable that he's never seen like that before! Keeps reading with much curiosity. Gets to chapter 20 and feels sleepy again. Gets a gum to chew to stay alert. Reads till the end. *** In the matter of reading your Bible, always remember this: It isn't sin alone that hinders spiritual growth. Watch those legitimate things that fight against your attention towards spiritual things and learn to put them in their proper place. God first! When He comes first, nothing else can distract you or hinder growth. If you are praying that God should make you to be like Christ, or that you want to draw closer to God, remember: From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible has a central message: God's plan of Redemption accomplished in Christ. If you miss this, the bible remains a closed book, even a mystery. Christ is the Light of the Scriptures! Your prayer to be closer to God, or to be more like Christ, is only answered as you discipline yourself to be consistent with your personal Bible reading and studying scriptures. Selah! _MEDITATION:_ *You said you will study your bible and pray everyday but you missed a day or two and you gave up. A lot has been said about consistency but do you know that consistency is also about CONTINUING even when you fail sometimes? Learn to CONTINUE from where you STOPPED. *DAILY DEW 8TH/FEBRUARY/2022* *Faith Series: The Shield of Faith* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Through Faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them."* (Hebrews 11:28 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ When God gives us instructions it is for our protection and profit. There is no directive in God's word that is not designed for our ultimate good. It requires faith to see this, believe it, and act upon it. Moses did just that! When God determined to wipe out all first born male seeds of Egypt he devised an escape or protection plan for His people Israel, albeit through simple and not so simple instructions. Why simple, simple because it appears too ordinary to avert the certain danger and not so simple because it involves practices that they had never done before. Exodus 12:6-12 reads almost like an action movie: *"Take special care of this chosen animal until the evening of the fourteenth day of this first month. Then the whole assembly of the community of Israel must slaughter their lamb or young goat at twilight. They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the sides and top of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the animal.*" *"That same night they must roast the meat over a fire and eat it along with bitter salad greens and bread made without yeast. Do not eat any of the meat raw or boiled in water. The whole animal—including the head, legs, and internal organs—must be roasted over a fire. Do not leave any of it until the next morning. Burn whatever is not eaten before morning."* *"These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the Lord's Passover. On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the Lord!"* It requires Faith to obey the above instructions. Likewise, every word of God, requires Faith. When we believe God and all He says, we will not have trouble acting in Obedience. *DAILY DEW 1ST/FEBRUARY/2022* *Faith Series: The Trials of Faith* _Key Bible Text:_ *"By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.”* (Hebrews 11:17-19 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ God does not tempt us but our Faith will be tried. Until our Faith is tried, it will not have the opportunity to be marked "tested and trusted". In 1 Peter 4:12-13 (KJV), it is written, *"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy."* Trials of Faith must come but they do not have a particular way of coming. For Abraham, God needed to test his ability to obey and sacrifice. It was God himself asking Abraham to offer Isaac. It was left for Abraham to either obey or disobey. In every trial of your Faith, you will have to either obey or disobey. You will also perceive that God is behind it all, sometimes like an examiner who does not help his student during an exam. When you are going through trials of your Faith that comes as challenges or persecution, or when you are being directly requested by God to offer up something, the key is to remember that your Faith is tried not to weaken it, but to strengthen it. As we enter a new month, and as the year unfolds further, be sensitive to the various ways God might allow your Faith to be tested. *DAILY DEW 18TH/JANUARY/2022* *Faith Series: The Creative Force of Faith* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Through Faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”* (Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Your belief gives validity to your reality. When you believe in the impossibility of a matter or subject, that becomes your reality. Positive beliefs keeps one positive and vice versa. It's true that "if you can't believe, you can't achieve", as opined by Jeff Long. However, beyond believing in the natural, there is a higher realm of supernatural belief. This is belief rooted or based on the word of God. This is where (supernatural) Faith comes in. Everything God ever created was made by God without anything that is seen. When God embarked on creation the only raw material was and is the Word! Indeed, without the word there was nothing made that was made. God did not create the world by Faith, however, we understand and agree about how He created the whole world with only his own words through Faith. *"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God"* This attribute of God, to create "things which are seen" is uniquely displayed because they were NOT MADE "of things which do appear". Now this unique ability is also activated in everyone who applies Faith.
