Don't take it easy on yourself and take it hard on others. Judge yourself mercilessly but be nice on others. 1 Corinthians 11:31 (KJV) puts it this way, *"For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged."* The essence is not necessarily to be wicked to yourself. The goal is to become a better version of yourself. Naturally, human nature tends to pamper self, and 'pepper" others! This is man's default set up. Self discipline means reversing this trend or tendency. Rather than always getting mad with others, and being soft and gentle on self, take the heat out on yourself. But be gentle on others. This also plays out by expecting less from others, and more from yourself. *DAILY DEW 3/FEBRUARY/2024* Godly & Wealthy _Key Bible Text:_ *"Now a traveller came to the house of the man of wealth, but he would not take anything from his flock or his herd to make a meal for the traveller who had come to him, but he took the poor man's lamb and made it ready for the man who had come.* (2 Samuel 12:4 (BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ Those who have, get more. Those who don't have, lose even what they have to those who have more! This is both a spiritual and a natural principle. (Luke 8:18) While this principle is true, in the story before us, brother David would not be spared for taking a poor man's own, to add to his own, or to use instead of his. When we try to apply spiritual principles with ungodly mode or conduct, we have breached the divine modus operandi. Having more and more must be with strict adherence to divine instructions. In a world where wealth is worshipped, we must be careful. If being wealthy is God's will, and of course it is, how we become wealthy is also very important to God. Besides, our definition of "wealth" must come form God too--not the world! We can't justify the means, by the end. When we seek anything good, money, fame, advantage, educational qualifications, promotions, etc, we must be sure that the means we employ in the course of reaching our aims, must be God's will too. _MEDITATION:_ *They have wicked minds and have missed out on the truth. *DAILY DEW 31/JANUARY/2024* Daily Sacrifices 4 _Key Bible Text:_ *"The king will use deceit to win followers from those who are unfaithful to God, but those who remain faithful will do everything possible to oppose him."* (Daniel 11:32 (CEV)) _Bible Insight:_ And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits."* (Daniel 11:32 (KJV)) Listen, when you combine these two translation, and focus on the first sentences of both, here is what you shouldn't miss:- And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries And The king will use deceit to win followers from those who are unfaithful to God Pause! To be unfaithful is to be wicked! Those who do wickedly are those who are unfaithful. You cannot afford to be lukewarm. God will spew you out! Unfaithfulness is wickedness. Unfaithfulness is lukewarmness. Unfaithfulness is you preparing yourself to be an easy catch for the devil! If the devil will try the faithful, what is the hope of the unfaithful? You are always the one who misses prayer meetings, either online or offline. You are the one too busy for bible study wether personal or corporately in church. You are the one who hardly attends workers meetings, or unit meetings yet you want to lead or play your role during Sunday service. Hmm You are the one waiting for special call or follow up either from your Pastor or your leader before you join the meeting or play a role. *DAILY DEW 27/FEBRUARY/2023* *Keep Fighting The Good Fight of Faith* _Key Bible Text:_ *"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith"* 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ Life is a battle field. If you won't fight, you won't live. You fought your way through to life, according to biology. You weren't the only one to run the race that brought you into human life, but you survived because you didn't quit. Everyone is fighting. Everyone is fighting for what they believe in. This is true whether you are conscious of it or not. Unconsciously, you are what you are today, because of the fights you suffered yesterday. If you don't fight right, you won't attain to much in life. Many today are non achievers or achieving below their potentials, because they are not fighting well, and consistently. For your life to become what God has called you to be, you must fight. You fight with all kinds of things. You fight again laziness, weariness, hopelessness, poor or wicked government policies, poor parental background, or over pampering parental background, wicked uncles, aunts and relations, peer pressure, procrastination, poor road conditions, poor working conditions, poor waste management system, poor or erratic electric supply, inflation, lack of job, etc Everyone is involved in this fight, but what makes the difference is how much faith you put in the fight! A lot of people give little or no faith to the fights of their life. Or rather, they focus on the wrong fights, put more faith in the wrong causes and end up losing the very fights they should have focused on. Knowing what fights to fight and which ones to suffer defeat at or completely ignore is key. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Fight for your relationship with God. Fight for your spiritual growth. Fight for your future. Fight for your nation's growth and progress. Fight for the future of your children. Fight for your greatness and destiny. Fight for the poor and downtrodden. Fight for the salvation of the unsaved. Fight for the lost and backslidden. *DAILY DEW 26/FEBRUARY/2023* *Keep Confessing Your Dreams* _Key Bible Text:_ *"And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed."* (Genesis 37:5-6 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ God speaks in the present the future. He calls the things that be not, as though they were. No matter what you may be going through, no matter how impossible your dream may appear going by present circumstances, keep the dream alive by talking about it. It is a good thing Joseph did not hide his dreams from his family. His family's response, especially his siblings, was wrong, but that is on them. It was their bad. Joseph was right to have shared his dreams. If he can't share his dreams with his own family, where else will he share his dreams? Continue to give your dreams the needed expression. Don't just keep them all to yourself. In the confession of your dreams, lies the realization of them. What you don't speak into existence, may just remain in your potential. The realities of life come into existence for the man who confesses and continues to work towards his beliefs and dreams. Don't just shut them locked up within you. Whether it be personal dreams or dreams regarding your nation, don't quit on them. Keep confessing them until they become your reality. Just like Martin Luther King JR kept voicing his dreams!
