*THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MARRIAGE* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"The marriage bed must be a place of mutuality--the husband seeking to satisfy his wife, the wife seeking to satisfy her husband. Marriage is not a place to "stand up for your rights." Marriage is a decision to serve the other, whether in bed or out."* (1 Corinthians 7:3-4 (The Message))
_Bible Insight:_
After the Reality Stage, it either you break into the Retaliation Stage or the Renovation Stage. It is almost impossible to taste both Retaliation Stage & Renovation Stage, because the two stages further lead to different outcomes/stages.
3. Retaliation stage-- this is the stage where the couples reacts based on the harsh discoveries revealed from the Reality Stage. This is where you find couples saying things like, *"I can't cope with my husband's/wive's poor etiquette, poor cooking skills, poor communication abilities, poor..."* When couples put on the *"I can't this and that..."* They begin to retaliate & fight back in a way that badly affect the marriage, leading to the stage of Rejection.
Or
4. Renovation Stage -- unlike retaliation stage, couples who make the most of reality stage, give a positive and healthy attitude towards the realities they wake up to. Rather than fight & quarrel, they wear garments of grace, forgiveness, willingness to improve, and willingness to adjust & do all it takes to make each other better, and thereby make the marriage work. This then leads to the Renewal stage
5. Renewal stage: this is the outcome of living by the fruit of the spirit. It makes marriage takes its true shape of making two become one. The couple become a renewed pair. At this stage they have learned to compliment each other, rather than fight or detest the differences of each other.
Or
6. Rejection stage. When Reality Stage is mismanaged, it leads to retaliation, which leads to either divorce or separation or an enduring marriage. People divorce each other, because they have rejected their partner. It is the outcome of failure to live by the fruits of the Spirit.
_MEDITATION:_
*"With my little experience so far, my number one advice for couples, intending or not, is be flexible and be ready to adjust. If you don't want to bend, you will break or the marriage will break."*

*ARE YOU LED?* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well."* (Matthew 6:33 (CEV))
_Bible Insight:_
Abraham's hope is not built on wealth. When wealth stops wowing you, God knows you are ready to become wealthy.
The end time wealth is for those whose hearts are set on God.
Caleb had a different Spirit because he was willing to be led.
God's intention is to bring his glory upon all flesh. But when our flesh rules over our spirit, we will not get to the place God has in mind for us.
Ask yourself *"Am I too much alive?"* You need to die completely and not just daily.
We are sons and inheritors. We are the ones that will deliver the kingdoms of this earth and the ends of the earth to God.
When our hearts begin to burn for the nations, when the things of this world starts coming we won't make a big deal of it.
We must come to a place when things don't tinkle our fancy anymore.
_MEDITATION:_
*"Make a U-turn and start running after God, and things will make a U-turn and start running after you."*

*Faith Series: Samson- an unlikely man of Faith* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."* (2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Mockings . . . Chains and Imprisonment
... Afflicted, Ill-treated (Heb. 11:36, 37)
As a result of Delilah's trickery, Samson lost his strength and the Philistines put him in chains. According to Hebrews 11:36-37, the Philistines afflicted him by gouging out his eyes and taking him to a pagan ceremony where they mocked him in front of 3,000 spectators. Samson realized that his sin had caused all these worldly people to mock both him and God. Faithfully, Samson did not give up on God and prayed for deliverance. God granted him strength again. Samson used this God-given strength to carry out God's will and deliver God's people from their enemies. While this cost Samson his life, it allowed him to kill "more than those whom he killed in his life" (Judg. 16:30). Samson died faithfully.
There might be some public sin in our lives at times that may cause the God whom we claim to serve and the brethren with whom we have fellowship to be mocked and tortured. In this situation we must repent and faithfully pray to God to give us strength. In repenting, we must turn away from sin and try to correct our lives in the area in which we were wrong. We must use the newly found strength to over-come God's enemies with abstinence from sin. In doing so, we will live faithfully.
We live in a world in which we look at most things from a pessimistic point of view. I have always tended to do this with the life of Samson. It is remarkable to consider that de-spite all the evil things he did in his life, he was able to turn back to God and God then considered him faithful.
_MEDITATION:_
*"It gives us courage to know that we can turn from our many failures and faithfully do the things God has planned for us to do."*

*Faith Series: The Courage of Gideon* (III)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night."* (Judges 6:27 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
3. It takes a courageous faith to build up the altars of the Lord.
Gideon was not only told to break down the altars of Baal, but he was also commissioned to rebuild the altars of the Lord - see Judges 6:26. It takes faith to do that in days of apostasy. To cast worldliness, carnal methods and liberalism out of a church and to bring in an emphasis on prayer, the preaching of the gospel and the sovereignty of the Holy Spirit – this demands a courageous faith. To go to some of our schools, colleges and theological seminaries where the authority of the Bible is denied, and to do what Jude exhorts us to do, demands a courageous faith –- look up Jude 3.
4. It takes a courageous faith to ask God for a sign.
Judges 6:36-40 are exciting verses. Was this evidence of Gideon’s lack of faith? No, for it required great faith to make such a proposal to the Lord, confident that He would perform the miracle. Gideon believed in miracles!
5. It takes a courageous faith to despise not the day of small things.
The enemy was very powerful, and numerically it was far greater than Gideon’s army (Judges 6:5). Gideon had 32,000 men (Judges 7:3); but what a shock when God told him to reduce his forces (Judges 7:2-3); and then to reduce them still further! (Judges 7:4-7). What a drastic subtraction this was! Why was it necessary? Verse 2 gives the answer, and so does Zechariah 4:6 and 1 Corinthians 1:27. Lest Israel should be tempted afterwards to say, ’We gained the victory!’ God had to show manifestly that it was His victory and not theirs. He works in the same way today!
_MEDITATION:_
*"Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."* -- Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)

*MARCHING TOWARDS MATURITY* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love--like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do."* (Ephesians 4:15 (Message))
_Bible Insight:_
In every field, only TRAINED MEN are appointed to TRAIN OTHERS. It is not different for the church! Do you understand the scriptures? Can you pray? Can you evangelize? Do you operate in the gifts of the Spirit? Do you consistently walk in the fruit of the Spirit? If not, reject that Pastoral form they've been hanging on your neck. Don't experiment with people's lives! A novice cannot produce skilled men!
If you're a Pastor or church elder or church worker or fellowship executive and you're struggling with prayer and the study of the word, GET HELP ON TIME! You cannot give what you don't have! You will be busy thinking of how to make church lively because you're also lazy in spiritual things. GET HELP ON TIME!
A Pastor, church worker, church elder or fellowship executive is a trainer. You have to stretch people beyond their comfort zones. See how Jesus trained His disciples? There's no growth without stretching people beyond the limits they've set for themselves. E.g. 'I can't pray beyond 20mins'. When you meet a Pastor who's worth his salt, he'll make you pray 1hr, 2hrs or more and you'll become better with time. I've seen people who were very lazy in prayers become addicted to it with the right training! Pampering is not one of the tools for discipleship - it has never worked!
_MEDITATION:_
*"The local church is not a hiding place for unserious believers. We welcome all with the goal of transforming all. Those who are not ready for this transformation cannot stand the heat of discipleship. They run away when nobody is chasing them."*
