*WHO IS JESUS?*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."* (Matthew 16:16 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Not everyone necessarily believes the same thing about Jesus, there are lots of ideologies about him.
Buddhism teaches that Jesus was not from God but merely an enlightened man like Buddha.
Hinduism teaches that Jesus is an incarnation of God like Krishna
Islam teaches that Jesus was a prophet like Muhammad but less inferior.
Jehovah witness say that Jesus was merely the Archangel Michael, a created being that became man.
Judaism believes he was a teacher,a Rabbi,a failed prophet but not the long awaited messiah.
Mormonism believed that Jesus was only a man, became one of many gods and then a polygamist and a half brother of lucifer.
New Age guru, Deepak Chopra believes that Jesus is basically a state of the consciousness in our minds.
Before you discuss and agree on issues of faith stop and find out what the other party believe about Jesus.
_MEDITATION:_
*"When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?."* -- Matthew 16:13

*Faith Series: Samson- an unlikely man of Faith* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him. And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done."* (Judges 14:5-6 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Shut the Mouths of Lions:
In v. 32, the Hebrew writer states that the people he listed "shut the mouths of lions" by faith. This could apply to Samson. When he was on his way to Timnah to find a Philistine, "a young lion came roaring toward him" (Judg. 14:5). With the Spirit of the Lord, Samson tore the lion "as one tears a kid" (v. 6) with his bare hands. Samson could not have expected this event. If Samson had known a lion was going to attack him on this path, he would have chosen another one. Yet, he was ready. Similarly, we must also arm ourselves in the Lord so that we will be ready for the unexpected spiritual trials that frequent our path.
Samson did not overcome the lion by his own strength, but by the "Spirit of the Lord." As strong as he was, he could only do great things with the strength of God. This may be the one redeeming quality of Samson's character. He allowed God to help him to do that which he could not do alone. Because the Spirit of the Lord came during Samson's greatest need, Samson needed no other weapon.
Being much weaker in strength than Samson, we are foolish when we try to take on the unexpected dangers that occur in our lives without the help of the Lord. We can do "all things through Christ who strengthens" us (Phil. 4:13). He is there to help us in our times of greatest need. We must have faith in God, as Samson did, to overcome spiritual dangers. When we have overcome these dangers, we will have strength and endurance in us that we may be "complete and lacking in nothing" (Jas. 1:2-4).
_MEDITATION:_
*"If Samson never faced a lion and stood to confront the lion, he would never have been able to defeat that lion. We won't overcome whatever we don't first confront."*

*Faith Series: The Courage of Gideon*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation."* (Psalms 85:6-7 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
In order to appreciate the courage which Gideon displayed in trusting God it is necessary to read the whole of Judges chapters 6, 7 and 8:24-27. Notice the following:-
1. It takes a courageous faith to hear and obey the call of God.
Think about this for a moment. Here was a timid, unknown young man threshing wheat, and suddenly the Lord called him to a very great service (Judges 6:11-12). Gideon felt utterly unfitted, unready and unworthy for such a task (see verse 15), and he told the Lord so; but the Lord only confirmed his call (see verse 16).
From this moment on this timid young man had the courage and the faith to take God at His word and to go forth in His might (Verse 14).
There have been many more recent examples of this very thing. Carey was engaged in mending shoes when God laid the burden of the unevangelised in India upon his heart and called him to take the gospel to them; Moody was a salesman in a shoe store when God called him to a world-shaking task of evangelism; and Livingstone was only a mill worker in the little village of Blantyre in Scotland, when God called him to open up a highway for the gospel in Africa.
To answer God’s call demands a courageous faith. Is He calling you to some special task?
_MEDITATION:_
*"And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?."* -- Judges 6:13-14 (KJV)

*INTERESTING DIALOGUES WITH CHRISTIANS* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*"Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven."* (Matthew 10:32-33)
_Bible Insight:_
Many people still see church as a mere religious place for religious activities; rather than Heaven's embassies, God's weapons, kingdom businesses.
That's why social media is filled with young people celebrating new jobs and promotions and adverts of businesses, but many many young people are quiet about where they worship and what they do for the kingdom.
You'll see people canvassing for politicians and swearing by them; calling them messiahs and people of integrity who will transform the nation; but when it comes to their pastors to whom they have run to several times for help and prayer, with results; they are quiet.
Ah.
We know you have been a member of APC since 1844, or you are a certified data analyst or senior consultant or double banana (lol) in Google, but can we begin to highlight with humility and with joy before we get to Heaven, the fact that you have been standing in the house of God as an usher for 18 years.
Believe me, it is more glorious.
_MEDITATION:_
*"And the young people need to know not only about entrepreneurship, politics, IT etc; but faithfulness, holiness, reverence and godly fear."*

*Making Your Marriage Less Complicated*
_Key Bible Text:_
*"You have been put to no test but such as is common to man: and God is true, who will not let any test come on you which you are not able to undergo; but he will make with the test a way out of it, so that you may be able to go through it."* (1 Corinthians 10:13 (BBR))
_Bible Insight:_
The only way to avoid the complications of relationships is to have none. We human beings need each other, so God created us with the capacity to love, to have friends, to get married, and to live in community with each other. But, as Facebook would attest, many of us would simply say of our closest relationships in life, “It’s complicated.â€
My own marriage illustrates this well. When Angie and I married back in 1997, we were 19 and assumed life together would be fairly smooth sailing. A decade in, we were discovering and doing battle with the monsters lurking within us (especially me). Things got…well, it’s complicated.
What saved us? I attribute the turnaround to at least five factors.
1.Redemption: Jesus died to redeem and heal us from sin and his Holy Spirit finds ways to actively draw our hearts back in line with his. It’s his power that heals.
2. Grace: My wife made repeated decisions to show grace and extend love to a sometimes unlovable, undeserving husband. She’s amazing!
3. Talk!: We both decided not to walk out, not to give up, and to pray desperately and repeatedly that God would change each of us according to his will.
4. Small Group: Our small group at Church taught us about opening up, getting real, and struggling in community with others.
_MEDITATION:_
*"5. Nobody’s Perfect: Our Church family taught us that nobody’s perfect, we’re all broken, and there is always hope when God’s amazing grace invades our hearts and our circumstances."*
