*DAILY DEW 25/APRIL/2022* *The Church in Nigeria and the 'emergence' of GEN Z* (I) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer"* (Romans 12: 11- 12 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ You see, the Boomers I (1946-1954) and Boomers II (1955-1964) were such an amazing generation that understood the place of perseverance, endurance, and patience. It showed in how they went through life and that's why they can't relate with a teenager committing suicide because he's under pressure to succeed. Some of them didn't have the best of marriages but you can readily see endurance as one of the key ingredients for staying together for as long. Of course, that strengthened domestic violence, abuse and assault in a way, but we can't deny that this was how they also endured hardship in life generally. Now, this also affected how they practiced their faith. You can make all the promises to them and even when none comes to pass, they keep enduring and hoping for a change hence fewer people abandoned the faith because of such issues. Let's also not forget that many of them also witnessed great revivals that made it hard for them to resort to atheism. If they knew nothing else, they were sure of God's power. *DAILY DEW 11/APRIL/2022* *ARE YOU A SOLUTION OR THE PROBLEM?* (II) _Key Bible Text:_ *"You who say that a man may not be untrue to his wife, are you true to yours? you who are a hater of images, do you do wrong to the house of God? You who take pride in the law, are you doing wrong to the honour of God by behaviour which is against the law? For the name of God is shamed among the Gentiles because of you, as it is said in the holy Writings."* (Romans 2:22-24 (BBE)) _Bible Insight:_ Are there bad pastors? Yes. Are there false prophets? Verily Are there false brethren? Certainly But for every charlatan, there is a true man of God For every deceitful worker, there is a genuine pastor For every place where the word of God is abused, there is a place where lives are being transformed. For every one who called himself, there is one whom God called. And the ratio is here stated in favour of the former. God is doing a lot through the church. People really helped. Lives restored. Families supported. Marriages saved. Youths empowered. The word of God taught. Many many people bettered. Hospital bills paid. Businesses set up. Many mouths fed. Many scholarships paid. Communities impacted. Community service per excellence. If you find that you don't know or talk about these things but once there is a bad story here or there, an accusation here or there.....then you find your voice "Ah jus wanto stan for what is right!" "Dis pipu shud be hed akantabu!" You, even you?! Hmm...Oh child of God! Is it the church who falsifies arrival time at the office and writes 7:44am instead of 8:35? Is it the church who shunts queues? Is it the church who teaches you to lie to your boss and shortchange your employees? Is it the church that is embezzling company and government funds? Is it the church that should bring up your children? Is it the church that should take in the homeless? Or is it you? Oh child of God! Are you like Daniel and his three friends who would not defile himself? Or like Joseph who would not sleep with his employer or any woman in the workplace, won't stare at her or him even twice, and flee from any and all advances instead of calling it 'favor" Or like Esther who fasted and prayed in her high office to overthrow an unrighteous decree Or like Nehemiah who used his office to stand for the people of God? _MEDITATION:_ *"Because none of these people were Levites or Priests or Pastors or Preachers or any such thing. *DAILY DEW 4TH/APRIL/2022* *Be PURPOSE-DRIVEN* (III) _Key Bible Text:_ *"Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest."* (John 4:34-35 (KJV)) _Bible Insight:_ God wants to work through you to bring love back into your home, to bring the good news of Jesus to your colleagues, to restore someone who is grieving or hurting, and give them divine hope and joy. Live your life with a divine purpose. Let God do His work through you. Matt 5 – Jesus says God expects us to be “the light of the world” and “salt of the earth”. Jesus shows us a second lesson: 2. Live Your Life With THE RIGHT PRIORITIES Speaking to His disciples after they return from buying food, Jesus says (John 4:34) “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.” Obviously Jesus is not saying He does not need to eat. He is thirsty and hungry at this time, that’s why the disciples went to the village to get food. Jesus wanted them to know that the real aim and purpose of His life was not to cater to the body, but rather to do the will of God. At this point of time, getting food is not the important thing. Meeting up with this woman is. Once He missed her, there might not be a second chance. Jesus has just done it – leading the Samaritan woman to faith in God and eternal life in Him. And not just for her. Jesus stayed two more days in that town so that more will have a chance to hear – He is to DO and FINISH God’s work. John 4:41 “And because of His words many more became believers.” The people say in verse 42, “now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Saviour of the world.” _MEDITATION:_ *"Jesus says the priority now is to DO God’s will and FINISH His work. *DAILY DEW 28TH/MARCH/2022* *THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MARRIAGE* _Key Bible Text:_ *"In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God's unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.]"* (1 Peter 3:7 (Amplified Bible)) _Bible Insight:_ A successful Marriage is the union of two IMPERFECT OPPOSITE SEX living together IMPERFECTLY with imperfect principle but extending the grace of forgiveness to themselves/each other. Always remember that *"A man is happy when he is productive but a woman is productive when she is happy."* The man who helps his wife stay happy, will have for himself a more productive wife and the wife who help her husband stay productive, will have for herself a more happy husband. Communication skills is one of the greatest asset of a successful marriage. Invest in having a more fruitful communication.
