We must all be willing to put everything at all time to see the kingdom grow and expand. Give your all, give your best in the subgroup or department where you belong. Heaven is depending on you. Your life will only be meaningful to God if it's spent serving his purpose here on earth. While you're still breathing find a local Church and give your best and all in helping God's work there. Don't live on earth for yourself. Live for the one who brought you here. Live for God. Let heaven benefit from your life. Commit to adding value in your local assembly. Be a among those making things happen. God has put gifts in all of us. Use the gifts to serve your local Church. *DAILY DEW 24/APRIL/2023* *Receiving the Teachings of Your Pastor (X)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."* (Matthew 28:20) _Bible Insight:_ Consider Jesus with His disciples: All their Christian education was from Jesus and they were to pass down the same without editing anything to the next generation. They were to observe and teach what their Pastor taught them, not what they heard on radio, watched on TV or read on Facebook. Consider Paul with Timothy: *"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."* (2 Timothy 2:2) All that Timothy had leant was from Paul and now he was to transmit exactly the same to others. Timothy was enjoined to remain within the boundaries of the curriculum he received from his Pastor and teach the same things to his disciples and followers. Consider Paul at the feet of Gamaliel: *"I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day."* (Acts 22:3) Paul was tutored by Gamaliel and not Gamaliels. This is not to say you can't learn anything from others. What I'm saying is your major source of learning and growing must be clear cut. _MEDITATION:_ *"If you hate your math teacher you'll fail mathematics. *DAILY DEW 23/APRIL/2023* *Receiving the Teachings of Your Pastor (IX)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them"* (2 Timothy 3:14) _Bible Insight:_ Everyone cannot be your teacher. If you give your ears to all the voices out there you'll not grow and you'll be a confused person. The person(s) God is using to teach you must be valued and honored to maximize what you're learning. Stick to the person(s) the Lord sent to you and be committed to receiving all God has for you through him(them). A medical student that's alway loitering in engineering, law and statistics department will not know much about medicine and will likely not graduate. Stay where God sent you and feed well there. Give yourself wholly to the things you're learning. Seek to apply and walk in the light of all you're receiving from your Pastor(s). The purpose of learning is that you'll come to a place of conviction and assurance of the truth. This will take some effort on your part. It's not enough to just hear, you have to give yourself to its application and continue receiving and learning. John 10:27 [27]My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Camp around the voice of your Pastor(s) and allow yourself to be led of God through his(their) teachings and instructions. Receiving instructions from multiple Pastors is a sure recipe for confusion and destruction. _MEDITATION:_ *"The food you really need for your healthy growth is primarily with your Pastor(s). There were other Rabbis apart from Jesus but His disciples were to hear his voice and follow Him. *DAILY DEW 17/APRIL/2023* *RECEIVING THE TEACHINGS OF YOUR PASTOR - (VIII)* _Key Bible Text:_ *For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears* (2 Timothy (4:3)) _Bible Insight:_ Your inability to receive from your Pastor does not only affect you, it affects what the Pastor can let out and other people in the audience could suffer it too. The Hebrew believers needed the teachings of their Pastor to grow. And since they weren't getting it they remained babies, continually needing what they ought to have outgrown. It's the Pastor that determines what the people need and teaches them. When the people begin to prefer something other than what they're fed, it results in what Paul was telling Timothy - inability to endure sound doctrine, lust and itchy for convenient theology and teachers. 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 [1]And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. [2]I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. Give your Pastor your ears and heart so the doctrine and instruction from God to you through him will not be lost. God will lead and feed you through your Pastor, not necessarily every Pastor out there (Heb 13:17). Be planted in your local Church and stick with your Pastor. Jumping everywhere to hear the latest revelations will only confuse you and expose you to deception. *DAILY DEW 16/APRIL/2023* *RECEIVING THE TEACHINGS OF YOUR PASTOR - (VII)* _Key Bible Text:_ *"It was he who gave gifts to people; he appointed some to be apostles, others to be prophets, others to be evangelists, others to be pastors and teachers. He did this to prepare all God's people for the work of Christian service, in order to build up the body of Christ."* (Ephesians 4:11-12 (GNB)) _Bible Insight:_ Your spiritual growth is tied to your Pastor. The one responsible for your growth in Christ is your Pastor. You cannot read yourself to growth without a Pastor over you (Eph 4:11-12). You grow by proper feeding, the one responsible for feeding you is your Pastor (and those serving under him), so without a Pastor you can't grow properly. If we could feed ourselves to proper growth God wouldn't have given us Pastors to feed us. Your Pastor is called and commissioned to feed the lambs (Jn 21:15-17), feed the Church of God (Acts 20:28), the result is that we the congregation (lambs or sheep) will grow (1Pet 2:2). The writer of Hebrews had so much to teach but his audience couldn't contain it. He couldn't really pour out the much he had received from the Lord for the congregation. This resulted in stunted or no-growth for the Hebrew Christians. Hebrews 5:11-14 [11]Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. [12]For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. [13]For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14]But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. What this congregation did affects us today also. If they were receptive the author would have taught some things that we would have learnt today.
