*NOT NATURAL*
_Key Bible Text:_
*Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].*
(1 Corinthians 13:7 (AMP))
_Bible Insight:_
It is interesting that some people believe that love is natural. Many argue that love comes and is expressed naturally. Actually, nothing can be more deceitful and untrue than such empty claims without proof.
If love was truly natural, nations will not be rumpled and embroiled in man made insecurities, economic destabilization and political turmoil.
If love was natural, every love at first sight case would lead to lasting marriages and every high school sweetheart stories will never fade away.
If love was natural, parents will not abandon their children; husbands will not desert or divorce their wives and children, or wives abandon their children and husbands.
If love was natural, there would never be hatred, robberies, senseless killings, ritual killings, kidnappings, banditry, and all kinds of evil today.
Love is NOT natural and never can be. In fact, the only thing that is natural is lying, hatred, stealing, cheating, and all manner of evil. That's why you find so many living in such patterns because many cannot even help it. They are naturally sinful.
The Love that God demands of us is not natural. It is not fleeting nor self serving. It does not seek to achieve its own purpose but God's purposes. It does not do good to only those who are nice and lovely. It strives to do good to the unlovable and the difficult.
This love is SUPERnatural. It is born of God's nature and exist by the Spirit's influence. It is not motivated by nor dependent on fickle human feelings. It doesn't come and go and is not dependent on convenience.
It is actually hard work and not simply nice gestures that come by instincts. It is a determination to live daily by a code of conduct that copies the ways of God. For God is love.
*MEDITATION*
*A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.* (John 13:34-35 (KJV))

*FIGHT*
_Key Bible Text:_
*For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.*
(Galatians 5:17 (AMP))
_Bible Insight:_
The toughest battles I have ever fought were battles between what I knew and what I felt.
I see divine truth as stated in God's word, but sometimes my feelings say something else.
I see God's word says that if I believe in Jesus who died for my sin and was raised for my justification, then I have salvation by faith, without works. But I don't always feel saved. I have to learn to ignore my feelings and focus on Jesus.
I see God's high standard of walking in holiness and consecration, yet I find that sometimes I have to fight my feeling so it can conform to God's standard.
I see God's word tells me of my permanent victory in Christ, of my greatness in Him, but I have to force my feelings to agree in the face of staggering oppositions.
I see God's word tells me the gifts of the Spirit are mine, that the sick will be healed through my hands, but I have to bring my mind into subjection to it and insist until it complies to the truth of God's word.
I think this is a fight I must keep fighting and keep winning as I walk on in my Christian faith.
When the feeling of sickness attacks me, the feeling of sorrow, the feeling of pain, the sense of loss or lack, and all the challenges of this life, I have to insist on God's word, inspite of how I feel.
God's word alone is truth. Anything contrary is a lie.
I have come to realize that my circumstances and feelings will not always automatically agree with or reflect what God's word says, so I fight to ensure it aligns to God's word.
I believe this is an honourable fight for the sons of God on earth. I think we will keep engaging in this fight until we put off this body of flesh. I believe this will be the basis of our eternal reward on that day.
So dear believer, fight!

*PRAYER HABIT- THE MISSING LINK*
_Key Bible Text:_
*And as a widow even for eighty-four years. She did not go out from the temple enclosure, but was worshiping night and day with fasting and prayer.*
(Luke 2:37 (AMP))
_Bible Insight:_
Anybody who is interested in making a headway in spiritual matters must be given to prayer.
There are no alternatives.
There's no man who has ever amounted to anything worthwhile with God that wasn't a man of prayer and meditation on God's truth.
All religions pray.
The very fact that all religions take prayer as an integral part of their worship shows you that there's something about prayer that connects man to the supernatural.
Yet we know that only in Christ do we have unhindered access to the fullness of God's power.
Since you have access to God's inexhaustible wealth in Christ why not give yourself to prayer much more?
If you withdraw yourself from speaking vainly and from gadding idly, from watching everything you see on TV, and from going after novelties and rumours, you will have enough time suitable for prayer and meditation on godly things.
That favorite TV series that has taken all your evenings until you're too tired to pray at night why not give it up?
The pleasure of sleep that keeps you on bed untill the time you have to hurry off to work and you're unable to pray every morning, when will you deal with it?
Or perhaps it's your phone that keeps you away from prayer?
Hear the Apostles:
Acts 6:4
But we will give ourselves CONTINUALLY to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
Prayer must be a habit.
He who intends to grow in the grace of Christ must learn to depart from the multitude and everything else frequently, just like Jesus.
I said FREQUENTLY.
We so love to talk a lot but silence is more helpful many times.
We love the company of our friends but a withdrawal is better many times.
We love pleasure so much, yet true pleasure is only experienced as the flesh is denied.
Leave vain things to vain people sir.
Shut your door behind you and commune with Jesus your beloved. Stay frequently with Him; you won't find a greater peace anywhere else.
Give yourself to prayer and so you too can be a blessing to your world.
It's a beautiful day today.
Use it well.

*WISDOM DURING SUFFERING*
_Key Bible Text:_
*My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.* (James 1:2â€-‬4 (NKJV))
_Bible Insight:_
If someone were to ask one thing when they face suffering or trial, what would they ask? Maybe they would ask that the suffering end. Or maybe they might ask for the reason behind their suffering. Why this suffering? Why me? In this passage, God desires that we ask for wisdom when we suffer.
We face all kinds of suffering (v.2). Maybe you are going through some kind of trial or suffering right now. Jesus says in John 16:33, that in this world we will have trouble and suffering. This is not something we should be surprised about or resent as followers of Jesus.
But the way we respond to suffering is different from this world. The world hates suffering, and will do their best to prevent suffering or even run from suffering. They grow angry, bitter and upset when they suffer. But knowing that suffering will come and that no one is exempt helps us face suffering without any false hopes but with the truth of God’s word. When you suffer, do you resent it? Does it make you angry with God? Do you have questions about why you suffer?
The Bible does not give us one specific reason why we suffer and we may never know the full reason. But in v.3, it says suffering is a test of our faith. Tests reveal what we have learned. In our culture, we don’t like tests and exams. But this test is a good thing, and it reveals what we have learned about this subject. Suffering reveals what we truly believe in for our hope and strength. Usually suffering makes us angry because it hinders what we want to do, what we set out to achieve, it spoils our plans and ruins what we desire. It reveals where our true hope lies.
How is it possible for us not to stumble during suffering?
We respond in joy. It does not mean we enjoy suffering or we go looking for suffering or just laugh it off. We have the same mind of Christ where He endured the cross for the joy set before Him (Heb 12:12). We respond in joy for what suffering can result in: our perseverance, maturity and wisdom.

*KEEPING THE BODY BALANCED* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.* (John 3:16 (AMP))
_Bible Insight:_
*The Love of God in the face of destruction*
Let's begin with God's love vis a vis God's wrath. Apart from the love of God, an understanding of the wrath of God is key if an individual would be receptive to and fully appreciative of the Gospel! John 3:16 says so.
It would be safe to divide the text into little parts--
--- God so loved the world
--- that He gave His only son
--- in order to give the world an opportunity to believe the son
-- if they must be delivered from perishing
--- and by so doing have everlasting life instead.
When you look at this text carefully, it is easy to see that God's love was provoked by the danger that humanity stands in. Sin invited death or condemnation and this will cause men to live in everlasting death unless and until they believe the son of God. This makes it clear, God was moved to action because by His word, which He is bound to honour, all sinners are bound to end in His wrath-- unless they receive the son who He sent in love.
There is an inseparable connection between the love of God and the wrath of God. Love paves the way to life, but the wrath gives the needed motivation to accept the offer of God's salvation.
Even the very word *salvation,* - which is inclusive of repentance- totally reveals what we escaped when we receive Christ- we escaped the wrath to come.
Remain blessed.
*MEDITATION*
*And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.* (Luke 3:6-8 (KJV))
