*PROVE ALL THINGS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.*
(2 Timothy 2:15-16 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
Preacher: There's a difference between everlasting life and eternal life. Everlasting life is the life you have before you come into eternal life.
Me: The difference is in the spellings. They mean the same essentially - both are derived from same word in the Greek. Whatever is everlasting is also eternal.
Preacher: There's a difference between hardship in ministry and hardness in ministry. Hardship is suffering and being in lack while hardness is about the workload of ministry. (A commentary on 2 Timothy 2:3)
Me: Well, the difference is in the bible versions. KJV uses hardness, but if you read some other translations, you find hardship used. Both mean the same.
Preacher: There's a difference between Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost is the one that dwells in every believer while the Holy Spirit is specially assigned to Jesus.
Me: Well, there was no difference until you mentioned it and even now there's still no difference. The same Spirit we have received is called the Spirit of Christ, and the Spirit of the Son! (Romans 8:9; Galatians 4:6)
Preacher: There's a difference between children of God and sons of God. Children of God applies to every believer while sons apply to those who have grown up.
Me: Children are sons and sons are children. We are all children of God and sons of God according to the bible. No difference. The bible says WE ARE ALL SONS OF GOD by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26; Galatians 4:6-7).
Preacher: There's a difference between Saul and Paul. Saul was the Old man while Paul is the New man.
Me: Not really. Saul was his Hebrew name while Paul was his Greek name. It's the same way Jesus is Joshua in the Hebrew language.

*DAILY DEW 3RD/AUGUST /2021*
*BE SELFLESS*
_Key Bible Text:_
*For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown for His name's sake in ministering to the needs of the saints (His own consecrated people), as you still do.*
(Hebrews 6:10 (Amp))
_Bible Insight:_
The major and most important transformation undergone by the believer is one of moving from selfishness or self centeredness to Christ-centeredness. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. The new creation man is a Christ oriented personality. It is actually the disappearance of self and the emergence and preeminence of Christ in me that makes me mature in Christ. Thus the scripture says, Christ in me the hope of glory!
God never forgets our labour of love for the brethren. Hence, God's faithfulness is constant. We need to therefore focus more on labouring in love. Why do we labour in love? Until we truly understand why, we won't labour effectively. We would be discouraged, in fact.
We don't labour in love to please self. We don't labour in love simply because of the love of the brethren. Even that reason, can fail as good and scriptural as it is. We labour in love for this reason:
*For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE in ministering to the needs of the saints*
We labour for Christ's sake. We labour for the sake of the name of Christ. We labour to bring Christ glory. We don't labour because we love to. We labour because God says we should do so for Christ's sake.
May we be strengthened to do more for His name sake.

*DAILY DEW 27TH/JULY/2021*
*REACH A POINT OF NO RETURN* (II)
_Key Bible Text:_
*They knew from experience that God's word is good, and they had felt the powers of the coming age.* (Hebrews 6:5 (GNB))
_Bible Insight:_
How do you get to know from experience that God's word is good? By holding on to it and seeing it come out as true and reliable. God's word when put to the test and it turns out to be true, is the best experience ever. I have tasted of the goodness of the word. I have held onto God's word, and it has not turned out to be anything but disappointing. That's the most exciting experience. It is not an experience to have and yet turn away from God.
In the same vain, believer here in time have experienced the powers of the age to come. The age to come refers to the life hereafter. It is a wonderful thing experiencing that power of the life hereafter right here on earth. Imagine receiving the dead back to life? Or watching a deaf receive their hearing or a lame recover their walking? Indeed, several times, God shows us the power of the age to come.
How do we get to see and know these and still turn away from the faith? Only those who have chronic doubt or are deceived by the devil will allow such. Indeed, it is almost impossible to have the light of God, have the gift of heaven, share partnership with the Holy Ghost, experience the goodness of God's word and the power of the coming age and still walk away from God.
Instead, we press in...

*DAILY DEW 20TH/JULY/2021*
*The Fundamentals of the Faith* (IV)
_Key Bible Text:_
*Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of LAYING ON OF HANDS, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.* (Hebrews 6:2 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
There is a doctrine of laying on of hands. Wow. This essentially means that this is much more of a big deal than we had even figured 🤔
Let's take a quick look at the subject more closely. First, observe that it comes after baptism, in the list. First, let's see this:
*Acts 8:18 (KJV) And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,...*
So we see that Holy Spirit power can flow through the laying on of hands. When one who is anointed lays their hands on another, power is released to work wonders.
*1 Timothy 4:14 (KJV) Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.*
Gifts, virtues, grace, healing and so much are transferable through the laying on of hands. We should ensure that we don't take it lightly and that we don't settle for less.
Jesus declared that all who believes in Him, will do wonders with their hands. This should be heavy in our hearts.
*MEDITATION:*
*And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.* (Mark 16:17 - 18 (KJV)

*DAILY DEW 13TH/JUNE/2021*
*From Milk to Meat*
_Key Bible Text:_
*For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.* (Hebrews 5:12 (KJV))
_Bible Insight:_
In my work as a youth sunday school teacher and coordinator, there are persons I have approached asking them to consider taking up the role of youth teachers, and they do nothing but give excuses. They just don't see how that will happen. Some of them go as far as telling you that it is not their calling. Some accept, but never show the required commitment and consistency. Yet some others, go ahead to become dedicated teachers.
Hebrews 5 verse 12 throws a serious challenge at everyone who is an obedient follower of Jesus Christ. Let's consider the Good News version rendition: *"There has been enough time for you to be teachers---yet you still need someone to teach you the first lessons of God's message. Instead of eating solid food, you still have to drink milk."*
It is quite disturbing to see a child who ought by reason of age to be eating some other kinds of solid food, still fixated on milk or liquid food. While there are medical or health conditions or challenge that can explain or warrant that in humans, how do one exactly explain how a child of God will perpetually remain at the level of spiritual babyhood from year to year!?
God is calling his children to grow from being milk dependants to being meat chewers and sharers. The key to achieving this is giving time to the word, prayers and exhortation. Routinely engaging in these activities is a basic requirement to spiritual growth and impact.
*MEDITATION:*
*Anyone who has to drink milk is still a child, without any experience in the matter of right and wrong. Solid food, on the other hand, is for adults, who through practice are able to distinguish between good and evil.* Hebrews 5:13-14 (GNB)
