APPRECIATE LITTLE GOOD

I came to realize that the little things we do each day which may seem inconsequential, has the capacity to impact greatly in the lives of people.



A stone throw from my apartment is a store where a woman sells "fries" (akara, fried yam, potatoes). And of late I've been having some technical issues🙄 with my life so I haven't had time and resources to cook.



I remember coming back home extremely tired and hungry the other day. And I wasn't sure of what to eat in the house, 'single bachelors' will understand better 😁.

From afar, I sighted this woman's shop and she was open for business. I zoomed in, bought bread, akara and potato (with enough pepper 😃) and left.

When I got to my apartment, I just threw my bag away and ate this sumptuous meal.

That was when I came to realize how important this woman has been to me personally. I don't really know for other people.



The truth is, I don't know how much sales she makes a day or how much money she earns, but what I do know is, she's been a life saver. And I know you can relate to this.



See, that little business you are doing. It could be teaching kids in primary or creche school, it could be reselling data bundles or airtime, it could be sewing clothes, it could be something people may regard as not big.

You might be making little profit, you might not have hundreds of thousands of customers but there could be one or two persons your business or services has touched their lives.

And I want to use this opportunity to appreciate you for doing good.



I grew up in South East Nigeria, Aba to be precise and I see pure water seller/hawkers almost everyday. I never appreciated them as much as the day we went to play a football match. (We lost the match tho🤧) After the game, I was so exhausted and very thirsty coupled to the fact we lost the match.

I looked around for a pure water seller, I couldn't find one. I then realized how important these guys are in the society and in our everyday life.



All I'm saying is, appreciate the little good you do. In business and outside business.

Keep adding value to your life, your work and services. Honour your craft.



I know we all aim to grow and expand. Yes we will. It's part of God's plan for us.

But we have to appreciate these days of humble beginnings.



"If you are not able to make an impact where you are, how then do you expect to do more where you haven't gotten to.

It's not about the size of your audience, it's all about the quality in your service."



Learn to value your customers. If you don't appreciate the 2-3 customers you get in a day, it implies that you won't appreciate the millions who will come later on.

Most times its not always about the money. Sometimes we have to look beyond the profit and see the needs of the prospect.



People are tired of the usual way of living and doing business. Customers too have emotions.

For those who say their job is draining them; I encourage people to make a switch if they are in jobs they don't like. And if they can't make the switch for whatsoever reason, then they should try and develop love and put in effort to the job.



So, learn to be grateful for whatsoever God has given you to do. It could be a calling, purpose, life work, vision, a mandate or whatever you interpret it as.

Be grateful for everything you have achieved thus far. Appreciate your little good. Greater good will come.
