CHECK THE MEANING

CHECK THE MEANING
RealityLifeTalks
Don't use any word without being sure of the exact meaning from the dictionary or any reliable source.

Don't speak words you hear people speak without knowing the actual meaning.

I remember few years ago when I played a game, I think Vice City and I picked a word from there: "Red Light District". It sounded very cool๐Ÿ˜Ž and I proposed in my heart that when I build my estate, it'll be named after it. I so much loved the name that the group chat I created for people in my neighborhood was named Red-light District.

Infact, those who were part of the group proudly called themselves Red-light District members.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚

Well, it was years later that I discovered that Red Light District is a section of a city set aside for brothels etc.๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Yes, Yes, you can call me dumb: thank you. But don't exclude the members of the group chat too. ๐Ÿ˜…

So I encourage you to be sure of every word before it proceeds out of your mouth.

My parents and other parents in my area will tell us that a cloth๐Ÿงฅ is "Bogus" on us if it's very big or oversized. So I assumed Bogus actually means "Big or large or very very big" as it sounded.๐Ÿ™„

When I resolved within myself to do a dictionary check of the words I felt I knew, I then realized that Bogus has nothing to do with size. Bogus means false and fake.๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚

Apparently they meant the clothes were false on my body not "Big".

And I bet you 20% of the words you speak don't have the exact meaning you think they do. ๐Ÿค”

Study your English very well till the point you'll be able to differentiate between synonyms. Like I know the technical difference between image/picture/photo, Tools/devices/materials/instruments and other closely related words. And I bet you don't.๐Ÿ˜Ž

Spend less time learning big words, concentrate more on the effective use of the small ones you know.โœŒ๐Ÿพ

I want you to set a standard for your life "Don't speak any word you don't know the spelling, correct pronunciation and you are not very sure of the meaning"๐Ÿคจ

Unless in extreme cases, try your best to make this commitment to yourself.

Finally, check the meaning of your name by yourself if you haven't, adjust some of the definitions you learnt in your junior years in school, learn the pronunciations of words, use less of abbreviations in your writings and know that your willingness to read and write is much more important than your ability to read and write. ๐Ÿค“

Thank you and God bless you.

See you same time same station with different gist! ๐Ÿ˜‰
