FINDING UNIQUENESS
AsIBeganToDiscoverMyself
While I was a growing up I decided to learn most social skills I saw people around me exhibit.
Maybe I wasn't born with them and perhaps I could still learn them, this I will always say to myself.
I didn't want to look awkward in social gatherings.
I never wanted to act weird or rather allow people notice am already the weird type.
I just wanted to fit in and look normal like every other person.
Then I tried copying how people related with people and how people responded to certain social situations.
And whenever I don't meet up to those social standards, I start to feel very inadequate.
Meeting people, making friends, attending social functions, relating to the opposite sex, choice of style and fashion etc now looked so much uneasy for me.
I found it difficult combining what I wanted with what I felt the society wanted from me.
I now saw myself living a life that was not mine.
Trying to become someone else and actually wasting the person I really was.
I literally lost my uniqueness trying to fit into places where I was meant to stand out.
But As I Began To Discover Myself, I came to appreciate my awkwardness, weirdness and dumbness. I found out I was different from everyone around. I was unique and I just needed to work on that.
I now started seeing and living life differently.
Today, I have improved in so many aspects of life and am more concerned with investing in myself, pursuing my dreams and adding value to lives of people around me.
I have found love and care in the circle of my friends and family.
Without being like every other person, people could still appreciate me for being me.
I have found UNIQUENESS.
So I encourage you to stick with what is right about you and just work on the necessary ones.
Spend time discovering yourself and also find a way to be hope to your family and a blessing to this world.
And always remember that, "becoming unique in life is not actually becoming a different person but your ability to discover yourself the more determines your uniqueness"
YOU ARE UNIQUE.
