Becoming a faithful Christian
"God wants faithful Christians, not perfect ones" God wants each and everyone of us to become faithful to him, the issue of being perfect is a gradual process attained through constant walk with God and by grace. Some Christian in guise of attaining perfection, portray self-righteousness not knowing we are not justified by the works of the law but by our faith in Christ. Apostle Paul in Philippians 3 vs 12-14 says its not as if he has already attained perfection, but one thing he does is that he lets go of the things that are behind and keeps pressing toward the things ahead. Coming down to our daily lives we need faithfulness. Couples divorce, friends break up, people separate because of unfaithfulness. Funny enough we cheat on God on daily basis. Most of us Christians remember God or come to him only when we need help. We give our offerings only when we have excess. We come to church only on Sundays. We rarely read our bibles and pray. Even when we pray, we pray for irrelevant things. But am not saying coming to Church everyday will make you a good person. But our drawing closer to Gods each day makes our love for him and bond with him stronger. God needs our heart. Out heart is God's home. Just as we sometimes avoid disobeying our earthly parents so as not to provoke them, What more God our heavenly Father?. A faithful Christian is one who is faithful to God even down to his tithes and offerings. A faithful Christian is one who opens up to God in every area of his life. A faithful Christian confesses all his sins to God, even when he is not sure he has sinned, yet he still asks for forgiveness. A faithful Christian avoids sin and temptations not because he is afraid of hell but because he does not want to disappoint or hurt God. A faithful Christian sees God not just as his creator but also as his father, friend and family. A faithful Christian depends only on God to provide all his needs. As a growing Christian you may not have all the strength to overcome sin and temptation, but as you submit yourself to God fully, in faithfulness, gradually you'll become stronger. Faithfulness to God pays. Someone like David not minding his mistakes but because of his faithfulness to God became the man after God's heart. You too can become God's favorite child. God loves you. Lets present our whole lives as a living sacrifice unto God, holy and acceptable. Its our reasonable service to him. We've gat grace!!!
